Does VC reduce FPS even when not being used?

I have noticed that on some aircraft it gives you an option to fly with the 2D panel only. Why is this? Does the VC(if present) reduce FPS
even though its not being used?

it shouldnt. Thats like asking if megascenery reduce framerates if not in the area of showing the scenery while flying. I think it should be
the same case. For eg. when you use spot view it changes your frames. likewise when you go back to cockpit view. so it doesnt make a
difference when youre using vc or not. When youre not using vc it doesnt affect your frames. At least it shouldnt..

Most planes it does have effect though, if the vc is there (eventhough you don't use it) it will cost you framerates.

I didn't notice a significant difference. It was in the same range as without the VC.

Well, even if you don´t use the VC view, the external model itself has to portray it, you could get into the cabin with Active Camera from the Spot
View and there would be no difference from choosing the VC view directly. More poligons, less FPS...IMHO.

Well, It seems to have an impact on FPS on my system (athlon64 3500+, 1 gig dual-chanel ram, radeon x1800xt graphics). I have two
identical airbus a320s, one with VC and one without. The one without gives much better performance, mainly when switching views.
