Ticket price basis?

Hi all,

This question might have been asked before but I looked for it and I couldn't find my answer anywhere! What is the ticket prices based
on?
For example I set my price to 100 dollars and I see that for a longer flight the ticket income is larger than a shorter flight! So is it some
amount per some mileage of flight? Money for distance, time or ...?

I base my prices on distance. If I mainly fly out of Miami International for a Transatlantic flight I will raise the price about 1/2 more than a
domestic flight. Example - $300 for a flight from Miami to St. Louis, $450 for a flight from Miami to Paris, or for a transcontinental flight
about 1/3 more - $400 for a flight from Miami to Los Angeles

I don't think I've ever changed the ticket prices. I do premium short haul flights in an Embraer ERJ-135 with VIP service and charge £500
on those. But that gets me about 20 passengers although it still makes plenty of money especially if I carry enough cargo. Instead of
being a "Continental Express" ERJ I call it a "Continental VIP supreme" ERJ. I would never dream of using a CRJ-200 since they are
cramped for passengers and have terrible climb performance ( = more fuel consumption).

I change the price when I remember to. I did a Transatlantic flight recently where I still had refugee pricing of $50 per pax. Needless to
say I didnt make much money

I really don't think the price we set is per passenger!!! I think it is per passenger-distance or passenger-time! Maybe Dan could help out
here! But I have realized that setting the price to 100 dollar, when I have a short flight the income from the ticket is much less than a
longer flight! Again I don't ever change that 100 dollar and I am not talking about the total income of a flight, just the income from selling
ticket increases as the flight gets longer in fsp! So how is it programmed? or what is it based on?

it's in the dialog for setting the price "Price per passengers per 1000km"

Example, say you have $200 set for one class,

So you make 500km you get $100, you make 2000km you get $400 per passengers.
Notice it's not linear you don't get $4000 for 20000 km
