heh heh at least it did that because of a failure. Whats worse is when the sim crashes after a very long flight. Ive lost a handful of long
distance flights because of sim crashes or power failures (live in a city that has a power grid that was built using string and bubble gum in the year 1826....or it seems like it anyway)

Did you learn anything? If so, then it's not a waste.

What's there to learn when you have a double-engine failure on landing? It's 100% death.

I would never give it all up and commit to death instantly upon a dual engine failure. The planes we fly can glide pretty far, and if I'm not
over water (with no land in site), I can always make a landing on a highway somewhere (if there's no highway, I can land on the fields... you get the idea)!

Imagine this:
You're on your final approach, flaps and gear set in their landing position, you're about 1000ft off the ground, both engines quit.. you're doing 140kts. ... DEAD.

Its the sim. If I die I play the hand of Dog and ressurrect my piloting self

Brad, what would you do if the engines failed and there was only a highway surrounded by an ocean, but there were cars on the
highway ![]() ![]()

You all have probably heard a saying... That a pilot starts earning his money the second things go wrong. In my opiniun (gathered thru the years from
talking to alot of different RL pilots) ... and that is... that a good pilot never stops thinking once things go wrong.. no matter what and never gives up... and believes they can save the aircraft no matter what the situation... in other words never give up if something goes wrong guys.. im sure Brad will agree. Also thats the kind of pilot I would want in the cockpit if a serious emergency occurs. I remember years ago when someone I knew very well were in a critical situation... and unexpectedly saved the situation (as most thought how the heck did he survive and save the aircraft). Afterward when talking about the situation the pilot mentioned that he never thought about crashing and giving up... as he was too busy on thinking of what to do next in order to save the aircraft as well as his passengers... which he did. ![]() |
