How is the PMDG 747? I also liked the 747, and was thinking about picking up the PMDG version. How does it compare (if it does) to the
PMDG 737 NG?

At least to me the 737 takes the gold.....just seems like there are too many rough edges with the new 747. There is a list of at least 10
pretty significant issues that PMDG has stated will be addressed in an upcoming patch. Now, once that patch is released and does what
they advertise.....then I'll get back on the bandwagon and start making longhaul flights again. Having said that, I remember a time when
the PMDG 737 was new too and it had it's own set of problems. All in time!!

The 747 has got some seriously awesome potential...but for me at least the existing bugs take too much away from the experience. But,
YMMV!!!

Oh it'll blow your mind! Did u see the wings flexing when it touches down? I did my second flight with FsP today and I didn't notice any
major problem. I don't know why but everytime I finish the flight, the passengers complain that I leave the seatbelt sign on for too long but
I don't. But it happened with leveld 767 as well and even with the new FsP version. I guess it just happens on long haulflights (5+) (Dan take note!)

The a/c handles beautifully, very easy to fly manually. All major systems are simulated and I think it's even a little bit more complex than
the PMDG 737. It takes me good 40 mins to get it ready for p/b if I start with cold and dark cockpit (yeah, I'm actually using a checklist).
Heck, only the IRS take 12 mins to initialize! It has pushback integrated on the com and you can even hear your engines coming through
the microphone of the ground personnel. I'm also surprised of the very smooth framerates I get!
The engine parametres are always fluctuating (oil pressure, temp, vibration) and they are all different from each other. The fuel burns
unevenly as well, so on long flight you might have to crossfeed to balance the a/c for landing. I guess I'll find out on my next flight from LAX
to LIRF.
Cockpit lighting is an amazing golden color and you have 3 different levels (cockpit instruments and switches only, cockpit and last
choice you can light up the all cabin).
I don't don't know if I can recommend it though. I only did a couple of flights...but let me tell you, I'm already impressed!

Like sitting in an armchair... It's exiting watching such a giant touching down like a butterfly on a flower.

For what's shown on the video, this 747 looks great with reverse thrust anumation, flaps and all.

Are you using fraps for the video ? if so, How did you manage to get the sound ?

Hey pegase, thanks! Yeah it's an amazing addon. I think the leveld guys can officially start to get worried now.
I used a MiniDV camera, pointed it at the LCD monitor (that's why you can see zooming). Then I captured the video to HD, edited it a little
(cropping) and converted it to WMV.

WOW! They actually implemented an IRS? I've been hoping PMDG would do the same with the 737NG, but no luck yet. If I remember
correctly, when the 737 was released, they promised 2 major updates. To date we've only seen the -8/900 package as far as an update
goes, however I'm not complaining.

It seems to me like the 747 was rushed. I remember reading about it moving from alpha to beta testing, and 4 weeks later, it seemed
like it was released (it might have even been shorter.) Since I primarily fly the 737 with FS9, I'll stick with that for now, and wait for a patch
or two to be released.
