This post is meant to provide notice of two situations with are consistently resulting in FS9 lockups (not
necessarily a CTD) while using
the demo version of FSP. The lockups occur 100% of the time regardless of the airplane used.
1) Using the Flight Planner while in the initial set-up phase of FS9. This causes a crash every time. I've noticed
that the crash usually
only occurs when I initate the flight path function and the mini-map screen appears. However, the crash does not
occur if I start up a
plane in SFO without a flight plan loaded and then use the flight planner drop down menu from the game.
2) Opening the GPS window, BUT only in SFO. This immediately causes the game to lock up. I can open the GPS
in other airports, such
as the default Seatle, however I cannot then change airports to SFO. Upon doing so, the game locks up at 81% of
loading the other
airport, during the traffic phase of the load up. I suppose I could choose to fly without the GSP map, but that
seems too much of a
sacrifice.
