VoxATC

Hey everyone!!

Wanna hear from you guys if anyone of you have had any experience with the program called VoxATC.

A program that let you talk to the "computer" ATC.

Anyone tried this one out, is it any good?

Looks interesting if you are really that serious about doing everything by the book.

I liked the dudes setup on the example video, expecially the 3 monitors. Though he landed too early on the runway

DO NOT GET IT!

I bought VOX ATC a while back, and I actually returned it the same day. Here's afew disadvantages and advantages from my point of view:

Advantages:

Fantastic new way of talking with ATC!

You have to file your own Flight Plans and request them using proper real world clearences.

Saves time! Its better than pushing "@" and then 1 to ask ATC for an IFR Flight Plan!


Disadvantages:

You need a really high quality microhpone and sound card for it to function correctly.

The main display box is very ugly. It has a white background and just blatently stands out.

You can no longer hear other AI traffics ATC communications.

Very bugy. You can one minute be cleared to takeoff, and upon liftoff, only have the options for taxiing etc.

The voices of the controllers sound like Microsoft Sam, and very robotic.


Its really up to you, but I would definitely try the demo version before splashing out on it!

Cheers Gronji! I installed the demo and it took a little while to set it up. Needed to do some voice recognition before trying it out in the
game. I´ve got good michrophones (doing a lot of music) but after flying with this system for 30 minutes I fully agree with you. It´s cool that
you actually talk to the computer (the girlfriend looked at me and thought I´ve become mental) But the voices from the computer is not
good enough.

The idea is fun, but it´s not good enough yet to splash the cash on it.

Good descision Buckfast. However, I think there is an AT&T 54Bit Voice version which improves the voices, but doubles the prices. Again, I wouldn't
try it unles you really liked it!

i tryed VoxATC demo, i liked it but the problem i had was the speeach recignition. the PC wont uderstand my southern accent. so i could
never get pass requesting a VFR clerance

Yeah, you need to do some training before you jump into the cockpit. The computer needs to learn how you say things. If you do the
training a couple of times it gets better and better.

it's a swine to remove, I ended up reinstalling fsx
