Help!

Welcome to Flight Simulator Hell.

I just recently picked up a copy of FSX, and I installed it normally. After installation, I tried to run FSX but instead got an error message
without any specific code saying:

Flight Simulator cannot run because it could not write FSX.CFG.

I have located the file and cannot open it. I have no clue what to do.

Any suggestions? All help is much appreciated.

Change your FSX for another one is probably a disk problem

Welcome.

Before doing anything like that,

first delete the FSX.cfg file, and try to start FSX again. FSX should try and rebuild the cfg. from scratch.
If that doesn't work perhaps reinstalling will, as something might have messed up during installation.

Are you running on Vista, if so I think you have to install FSX as an administrator.

I think it is indeed the administrator thing.. Without administrator rights, you can't do anything.

if none of that works then you might want to call microsoft as there might be a problem on your game disk
