FS X Questions

So I got FS X today and have been playing it for a few hours. So far I think I like it. Visually it looks a bit better, but it's a system hog (who
would have guessed?). I like the new planes and the new missions, although i wish there were more. I have a few questions that
maybe someone else who is also using can help me with...

1.) I'm running FS X on a Dell Dimension 8400 3.0mgh p4, 3 gig RAM, 256mb ATI Radeon x800 graphics cards. I have all in game
settings to default. In FS9 I got a frame rate of 25-30 easy. With FS X I'm getting 10-20. It's really annoying. Suggestions on how I could
improve this (either changing in game stuff or equiptment upgrades)?

2.) I'm used to pressing "alt" to get the menus to appear in game, doing what I need to do, then having the menus disapear. In FS X you
press "alt" and the menus never disapear. If they can I haven't figured it out yet and can't find anything in the docs.

That's it for now....will probably have more when i get more time in.

1.) Go back to FS9

2.) Just click anywhere on the screen.

I won't say anything on 1 anymore
2) keep alt pressed for a few seconds

On #1, one thing I did was drag the aurogen to zero. Seriously - if you fly airliners, I find the ground textures so convincing that there's
really no need to have them in 3d. Now, if you like low altitude VFR, I'd say you should bring them up. But, my 737 approach to KBOS
screenshots show decent detail of Winthrop down below.

On #2, I just get all my settings done while in windowed mode then do alt-enter and that kills the top bar. DIdn't know about clicking on
the screen - I'll have to try that. Again, I've only used it for a couple hours yesterday.
