Flight Simulator X
Scarily accurate simulation
Given that the last version of FS was so true to life it enabled you to import accurate weather reports, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the makers would have called it a day. Not so: they've spent last 2 years refining it even further, and the new version is breathtaking. Detail levels have been increased to give far more realistic planes and scenery, While you can hear the roar of your propulsion in 5.1 surround sound. The final touch is giving you a nudge to view it all: if you tire of simply taming the controls, there's a selection of missions to complete. it'll arrive at the end of the year for XP and there will be an even prettier version that uses DirectX 10 features of Windows Vista
