So, anyone know what the deal is with this? FSX is supposed to have AI controlled jetways. Does that mean they will automatically
swing over when there is a plane in proximity, or do you think it will be like SimFlyers - you tune a radio or hit a key or something?
Also, I wonder what it will mean for AI aircraft - will they swing over for them too? If so, they'd better nail all their afcad layouts right off.
This could open up a whole new world for FS, in terms of realistic airports. Think about it. So far, the gates have been maybe 1/10 or
less than the actual amount of each airport and spread randomly and at wrong angles all over the place. Even many of the high-detail
airports gates don't line up with the jetways. If they are going to have moving jetways now, you'd think they are going to have to nail their
spots, right? Also, will most airports still have no jetways and if so, will we be able to add them in in the form of an Afcad style editor?
So many things to consider.
I also wonder how the airport vehicles will be controlled. I'm guessing, just like AI traffic with pathways drawn on the airport plan. But,
how will they know WHEN to come out? Will the refuelers automatically drive out when a plane taxis in? THAT would be a nice touch - to
be able to call for fuel and have the truck come out and fill you up, rather than jumping out to the edit boxes.
Either way, I think I'm sold on this. Now, if they allow previous traffic files and aircraft to remain compatible, that would be great (not to
mention, not needing a 50 billion zillahertz machine!)
Anyone heard anything about systems specs for this thing?
