Does anyone know how to eliminate the penalty for your tail hitting the ground on Takeoff/landing. My contact points are a little messed up.
Change Tail Strike Penalty?

Is there way to lower this? There is a stunning scenery for LFLJ (Courchevel Altiport, try YouTube), where RWY climbs in 18,5% (!!!), in FSPX there is
no way how to land there without penalty, however. Even a smooth LDG (no idea if we can call any landing here smooth, but I did my best) comes with tail strike sound & penalty... :-(((( THX!

Try keeping a little power as you approach, that will fix your attitude problem (and your tail strike) and any speed problem. 3- you can try to edit your contact points.

Ryanamur, though you obviously are just tryin' to help me (which I highly appreciate), U expecting me to be a fool at the same time.
Quote:1- land on the open side instead of the hill side. 1 - I don't believe there can anybody land that direction without a HUGE parachute. I didn't even think of it. Not sure if you have seen this add-on scenery for FSX, which has everything, incl. that almost terrifying angle. 2 - nope, I didn't. I think I can pretty good use FS beeing skilled enough to land here. Newbie at FSPax doesn't mean newbie in cockpit. Actually, I made more than a few greasers in a real life flyi'n too, so improving my technique will definitely NOT fix my problem here. 3 - here we are getting to the point. Where? I haven't found it in scenario settings, just "DisableTailStrike" in more options.CFG Can do that, but should I before flight, can I do it inflight, or anything else...? Haven't seen anything like "contact points" - where can it be found? THX for answers!

Are you using the Overland planes by any chance? If so, go over to AVSIM.com and download the latest FDE updates by Bryan Betts and
they solve the problem entirely. Assuming you aren't in fact leaving the runway at too steep an angle. Hope this helps. Chuck B.

It really sounds like a pilot or aircraft error.

Here you missed what he said, contact points are part of Aircraft.cfg for that particular aircraft you are using, options.cfg and scenario settings areFSPX which has nothing to do with contact points what so ever. Don't look for something in the livingroom if you left it in the kitchen This is something to keep in mind also before making a statement such as accusing someone "U expecting me to be a fool" especially when you can't even make an attempt to spelling "you" then point out how you can't find something in the wrong place. Before editing anything try a different aircraft. If it is the one Chuck B mentioned getting an update would be the best bet of all. |
