The Airport souroundings might look different in the unmodified FSX.
The Airport however will look the same.

Whats with the desert around all the airports??

All buildings and vegetations around airports have been removed in preparation for the arrival of the A380. This was done as a safety
precaution because the first time a 380 crashes on takeoff it will burn down approximately 10 Trillion square acres.

Of course all of these measures are a waste, because by the time the 380 makes its maiden commercial flight everyone will have
personal flying cars and jet transportation will be obsolete - partly also because of the popularity of space travel to visit the colony on Mars.
