Here my latest work, notice I added a lot of flight data as climb/cruise/descent time & fuel...

Still I wonder if I'll leave the "fuel per hours" value because someone not attentive
may wonder why he have a so big number and would think it have used this fuel while it's only
the average fuel consumption calculated for one hour of flight based on your flight....
(if you make 10 hours of flight the number should be -about- the same)

What you think ?

Notice I've added in FSP all what I think were missing, my fuel setting were always completely
wrong in the past, FsP will help you to plan your fuel load based on some flight... in this way
the "cruise fuel/hours" may be usefull...

Of course "Calculated cruise fuel per hour" would be more explicit but
there is no room for such text...

So the litle "(calc)" should give the spoil... !?

So how is the cruise fuel/hour measured? Is it the average for the entire flight from engine start to shutdown, or when the aircraft is stabilized at altitude/ or a certain maintained airspeed?


This is my first post, and I can't wait for this to come out! I've been a flight simmer since FS98 and I recenly earned my private certificate,
so I'd be honored to give your any tips or advice!!!

I see it's confusing...

It's the fuel/hour calculated based only on the consumption during the cruise time...
It's too bad I dont have the place to make a more explicit text because this value
could be very usefull...

given that you climb at the same flight level you have your fuel for climb and descent value,
now multiply the "Cruise fuel/hour" by the cruise flight time you plan and you have your exact
fuel consumption for your flight...

in our example if we plan a long flight of 4 hours at FL190 instead of 35 mn we see that we need to take
climb: 346 gal
descent: 139 gal
4 hours * "cruise fuel/hour 971" = 3668 gal

We need than exactly 4153 gal not counted the fuel reserve... just add 917 as in cruise and your set...
we'll need 6070 gal

An overall value would be less usefull because climb/descent number will not have the same effect
in % on a long or short flight....

Sorry I didn't replieded to that...

FsP set the start of your cruise time as soon as you stop climbing during 2mn (he take than the last time know
where you climbed) , he set the end of cruise as soon as you descend 3000 feet form the last "cruise altitude"
noted at the start of your cruise.

The cruise detection was a headeach because you can change flight level anyway the start time of "cruise"
is precise at 10-30 seconde, howewer as you have to descend about 3000 feet in the worse case
the cruise time should then be precise at 1-2 minutes.... not too bad for an automatic stuff...(best case, less than one minute)

The only other solution would be to make the user press a button... this is a no-no for me, if he can press a button
he can note the time on a paper also...

Just something I noticed from those screenshots, in the imperial values, speeds are in knots. Now, I use metric, but when flying i use
kts for speed. Why not have one were all the values are the values commonly used for flying. Eg. distances in Nautical Miles, speeds in
knots, liquid amounts in Litres etc.

It would make it more realistic and real world pilots would find it easier to unerstand and relate to.

Normally in real flying your fuel is measured in Lbs. Only in Europe is it much different, where they go by kgs. That's the problem with
writing anything like this, if you notice FS uses the US system, ie Kias, Inches of Mercury, Lbs etc. It also has an 18000 foot Changeover
Altitude, against the 8000 feet that it is here in UK. I think for the most part probably better to stick with the US system as almost every real
world commercial pilot would have to know this.

One question for you, I have my FS set to metric (as I like to load my Fuel and do all my weights in KG). But although I like KG, I like all my
other data in standard aviation format. I.e. Knots, nautical miles, feet.

Will there be any way of combining the two. I really can't live with Km and Km/h. It would be like living in russia!

Back on topic. The "Cruise Fuel/hr" is in my definition: fuel burned between Top of Climb (ToC) and Top of Descent (ToD) divided by time (hh:mm:ss).

Some FMS' and POH's give data to allow calculation of ToC and ToD to be used in flight planning. Most useful for fuel planning.

The landing speed 131.10 km/h - 71,74 Kts seems a bit low for a 737 which usually lands around 130-140 kts.
Is it a speed unit confusion ? or any other problem ?

Other question : Will it be possible to know the runway distance before take off / after landing ?

If it needs extra work, please, keep it for a further version (I don't to get killed for causing a delay on the first release )

As many screenshot this one was outdated 1 hour after I posted it... a tester noticed the low speed landing
and reported a bug... it was a bug that is now corrected.

Dan, one quick question. Is there anywhere that shows the pilot's wage for the flight? In fact the crew's wage and what they would earn?
Or is that just automatically taken from expenses without any feedback?
