abrupt IAS change

Hi guys,

I read the tip on this forum to use wind smoothing in FSUIPC but it doenst work.

In CRZ mode I sometimes come up from a FL300 270-280 to 350 on IDLE(!) without a heavy wind change. This results in heavy overspeed and heavy -gforces
when pitch correcting.

Is there any other way to fix this? Or is this just a major FSX bug which cant be fixed? I dont like playing on standard weather as there's no
challenge flying clear weather. Hope you guys have some tips. Every flight im having this, resulting in overspeed penalties or even destroying my
aircraft.

The FSUIPC tip I think only works if you have a paid/ regisered version of that software. Otherwise, the real world weather changes in wind speed is
a big FSX bug that there aren't really many ways around. The only tip I can give is not to use the RWW Update every 15 minutes as that seems to cause
the worst problems. I have been using RWW non update and have had very few issues when flying with wind changes.

Unfortunately i have the 15 minutes updates off. I just found a checkbox to disable the download of winds aloft... maybe that works. Point is that a
calm wind situation on such flight levels is even more unrealistic than this...

Today a short flight from AMS to Frankfurt MAIN got me a north 60 knts crosswind changing 100 degrees in just 1-2 NM. Plus a 80 knts ias increase...
Thats total bullshit unless im in a high active CB .

I have the full version of FSUIPC btw. I just found those variables too.. hope i can tweak around. Very frustrating though when im on my top of
descent with such a sudden IAS change.

Final question, do all airplane models have this problem? Im using an ARIANE 737-800 for the realistic 3d cockpit.

My advice to people on this subject is always the same. This a known bug, so there are two ways around the problem, 1) Don't fly so
close to overseed, 2) Go into the aircraft.cfg and change the value of the overspeed to something stupily high (1000 kts).

I hate trashing a perfect flight with an overspeed penalty. Same for the altimeter penalty - I was getting those until I started checking ATIS
more often. My bad. As for the overspeed, I just consider it another challange to deal with. I have always used RWW with 15 min updates
and include winds aloft. Flying between KDCA and KORD I never had an issue. However, KDCA to KMIA - I have had two encounters
near the NC/SC border. (weeks apart) Another time was approaching a line of clouds and suspect it was a weather front. (I am kinda
new at this) All in all - it is what it is and I try to work within the envelope (that I am still learning).

For now I am staying around or below mach .75 at cruise and if areas develope a reputation like the one around NC/SC - I go through
there a little slower. I am still trying to dial that sudden wind change in. If this is a bug, what are the facts? Is it totally random, or certain
area?

As with the altimeter penalty, I would disable only as a last resort. If I am chasing shadows here trying to understand the sudden wind
change - maybe then. I had thought they were legitimate weather conditions. But then, I am new...

There is one more alternative and that is to buy a weather generator. Personaly I use Active Sky 6, never any problems and very pretty
clouds.

Thanks, enough options available. I think i'll just change the aircraft cfg if thats possible. That weather engine looks nice too btw
