Long Haul

Hey, well after playing fsx for about two years and everything working fine now I have a problem :D

When I make any long haul flights I get mins money like today when I flow from Vienna to Narita with 777 after landing when I go to flight report it
gaves me minus money like -4,000,000 . Well ok I thought I tried another flight form Sydney to Vancouver with 744 and after flight guess what minus
-17,000,000 WFT ??? I have tried loads of differen LONG HAUL flight and they all gave me minus money ???
Can somebody HELP !!!???@@@

Post the end of flight reports as there are any number of reasons as to why you are getting into the red.

Lose the time accelaration to begin with, then do you load cargo and completely fill up the fuel tanks of the a/c?

The fuel tanks I always fill up to 100% and usually I dont loand any cargo ( this flight was exception ) I know I shouldnt fill up the fuel 100% but
that doesnt make any big changes to my profit especialy not -17,000,000

You can make alot of money off the inflight meals if you improve the quality.

Ok will try but look I made another flight from Riga to Heatrow with the same aircraft 744 agean fully loaded fuel 100% and cargo as much as I could,
and still look I made some money ???@@@
Shouldnt it be that long haul flight make more money that short flight ???

Over a certain distance, the income begins to negate due to the overheads - fuel, parking etc. Try only loading the amount of fuel you need for your
flight then enough for 1 hour reserve and emergencies.

Check your insurance rates. At 27.24% you're paying $614,388.00 for a flight that earned just under $442,000 and that's before the costs
for fuel and taxes. Either you had some accidents or are paying for repairs out of your insurance company's pocket; always a bad idea
and one that will kill your profits in the long run.

By way of example, my highest FsP insurance rate is 4.32% after some 246 revenue flights. I believe that the insurance cost is based on
the cost of the aircraft in FsP but that's just a guess.

Rates lower over time provided there are no claims but you seem to have dug yourself a really deep hole.

Lefty is correct, your insurance is killing you, Another thing is that on super long hauls you have to charge highr rates for the pax to pay for
the increase fuel weight. Also I would increase the qulity of your service if I were you, at 20% all your getting is a surly out of work
telamarketer serving drinks to people that didn't pay very much to be flown half way around the world.

I suppose it depends upon why your rates are so high and how much you wish to keep your current FsP airline. In my opinion you have
essentially 2-choices since there is probably no way to edit the files and reduce your insurance rates to reasonable levels immediately.

Option 1 - Write off your current airline and start a new one. You may be able to transfer your current pilot to the new company so perhaps
all your previous flights may not be lost.

Or.

Option 2 - Carry on. Even with high insurance rates there should be a financial 'sweet spot' that will allow a marginal profit provided the
route length, load factors, fares, catering and aircraft type are just right. Finding that may take some testing but in the meantime your
company will continue to haemorrhrage cash with every flight. As mentioned above, insurance rates reduce a bit with every flight where
there is no claim made so over time the rates will come down. This may restrict your destination and aircraft options and suck the fun out
of flying but that is up to you. Also, address the reasons for the high insurance rates, try to use your insurance only in the event of an
accident and even then use with caution.

Personally I'm a fan of Option 1 since it will probably take a lot of profitable flights to reduce your insurance fees to managable levels.

As fo fuel planning, in FsP you pay only for fuel used rather than fuel loaded so the benefits of proper fuel planning are largely but not
entirely wasted. There's lot's of fuel planning info out there but loading tanks to 100% for every flight will hurt your bottom line in FsP over
time, particularly in the short-haul and bus stop routes.

Well Thank You !!! Yeah I did the first one just make a new company and trasfer the pilot to the new company and you wont loose any flights but you
lose all you planes but still thank you , loook made another long haul flight and I finally made some money not much but at least !!!

Start experimenting with your ticket price. Start at the high end of "good" pricing and see what happens. This a boring and tedious
process called Cost vs. Benefit analysis. Don't look at just the fact that there are fewer pax. Using your old high school calculator and 9th
grade algebra and some time you will find that there is a happy price where you get the most money per plane load. You will know when
you have found it (for each plane) when by chargeing just a little bit more, that plane makes less money than before. Remember that you
don't have to do the flight, 1) Pick your pricing, 2) load your plane, 3) calculate your money for that plane load, 4) cancel the flight and go
back to step #1. Like I said boring.
