HELP! fsx won't start with fspassengersx

Hello guys,

I just upgraded my new hp desktop's power supply and graphics card in order to play flight simulator x better. I had fs9, and one of my favorite add
ons is fspassengers.

FSX works great without fspassengers installed... but as soon as I install the demo of fspassengers, fsx won't start! it just sits there with the
circle icon. I have windows 7 64 bit and when i first tried to run fsx , it asked if I wanted to run fspassengers.dll and i said yes, always....
still nothing. I've looked all over the internet for hours with no luck : (

I REALLY want to buy fspassengersx... can anyone please help!! Is it the fspassengers.dll file?? if so, can I replace it?? Should I reinstall fsx
altogether?

Do you have sp1 or sp2 on your fsx?

Hi recon.. I am using fsx gold with acceleration... The Microsoft website says not to download sp1 and sp2 if you have the expansion.. So I did not download Is this correct ?

so does anyone know what the problem could be? I read on one of the posts that the guy had to completely reformat his windows 7?? I don't even know
what that means.... and If i'm having this problem, there has to be others with windows 7 64 bit having the same i assume??

The current version of FSP / FSPX were released before Windows 7 appeared -- I think -- and so people have been finding difficulties trying to use it.
There have been a few other threads here about this problem, so perhaps you'll find something in them to try..?

Yes, the current version of FSPX was released before Windows 7 and I believe, Vista. Please read the documentation as, certainly the version I have,
does state that there may be issues encountered with compatibility on Vista and nothing is mentioned about Windows 7.

Hi mate,

I had a similar issue which appeared to be FSP but was'nt - That sympton occured with my new graphics card which had two VGA
outputs - FSP for some reason would launch it's startup window on the second screen and FSX would sit waiting for me to acknowledge
the FSP window on the primary monitor. As I never had a second monitor on it ooked like FSX was hanging when in reality it was'nt.
I doubt you have this issue but I thought I would mention it.
