FSX hangs at startup screen

HI I recently installed FSP, on my win7 64bit pc. When I started up fsx, it keeps hanging on the splash screen, and wont go any further. I tried the
replacement dll file that I thought may of been the issue, but it didnt help.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Many other people I know including a FSP beta tester run it fine on Win 7.Not really the answer I was looking for.

It says no-where in the documentation that FSP will run for sure on Win 7, thus all we can tell you to do is to read the forums.

Thanks Whiskey. Thats what I did...read the forums, and there are examples of it working fine after having issues, but just as many I have read where
it doesnt work fine. I resisted posting until I had exhausted every other possibility, and now I need help.

That's the reason why i posted because I couldn't find an answer in the forums. I was hoping someone could help me more than just " read the forums."
(not meaning to be smart when I say that)

You will see, from readin the forums, that topics like this come to a halt very quickly as there doesn't seem to be a definitive solution out there.

Lets hope there is a patch soon, but thats been a while coming from what Ive read. Time to delete FSPX until I can get a patch.

Dan, the developer, has been very quiet on the forums as of late, but hopefully his abscence from the forums means the patch will be arriving soon...

I did have some success late yesterday. It appears that a module .dll file for my level D 767 was not working properly. I removed it, and fsx loaded.
I registered my serial number, but didnt get to a flight. i need to try it tomorrow, and hope I dont get the cotd while flying that other people get.
Not sure why that file would cause that issue.

Will keep you posted.

It did state in the documentation way back when I purchased FSPX that FSPX should be the last flight sim add-on that should be instaalled on your
computer so that there are minimal conflicts, but that is with XP as OS.

This was the case. FSPX was the last.

I have has the Level D for 9 months now, so I didnt think that would be an issue. I found that the .dll file was an issue when I checked my error log
on windows, and that file kept coming up as the last file being loaded before fsx stopped working and hung on the screen.

Not sure how I get around that. I may try and put the level d file back into its folder and see what happens when I get home from work.

Can't help you with that as I have had no trouble at all with FSPX and Level-D 767.

I will do some flights and some other testing when I get home from work, and see what happens. Maybe with a bit of luck i may have fixed my
issue...here's hoping

Looks like no joy.

I just cant load fsx again with FSPX installed. It locks up again, but this time I am unable to find if any file or program is causing the issue.

Just uninstalled FSPX, and bingo, the program works.

Lets hope the patch is coming out soon. I have a good program siting there I cant use.
