Tire blowing on landing and crashing computer

I downloaded FPX about 2 weeks ago and I really love it, right up to the point when I land and my tire blows and crashes my computer, I get an error
message come up saying I do not have enough memory, which I do, I am thinking about going to buy some RAM but my computer is already very quick and
its only when I land when the problem happens, my system is
32 bit
3 gb
5 windows score index
2.5Hz
ATI HD4500 graphics card

I have settings on med high

Could anyone help and let me know what to do?

Are you using XP, Vista or Win7?

The chances are that if you are recieveing an error message about not having enough memory, then your computer has decided that the amount of physical
memory it is going to dedicate to FS has reached its max and so it cannot continue to load scenery without changing your settings. Having it a CTD on
landing or approach isn't unknown because the computer has had to load all the scenery from your departure ariport, as well as traffic, all the way to
your destination airport, and if you're using alot of add-ons this will cause the amount of memory to be used to increase independent of your scenery
settings.

As far as I know there isn't really an easy solution except to prioritise your favourite areas to fly in in the scenery database so that they'll load
faster and FS will remember more of them for future flights, thus preventing alot of the memory being used to load all the scenery each time you fly

I am grateful for your comment, I thought about changing all the display settings just before I land to as little as possiable so the computer doesnt
have to work hard, would buying more RAM be a good idea do you think?

Also is there a way in which I could stop a blow out on landing?

Going above the number of 3 (and a cookie) GB of RAM would require switching to a 64bit operating system - which is not a bad thing at all
but it depends if you want to do the work

Additionally you could try a program like game booster to shut down all unneeded services when running FSX. You will be surprised how
much cr*p gets loaded and runs in the background by default. This often helps older pcs..well...define old XD...and surely can't hurt to try.

How would I change to 64 bit? Is there software I could buy or would I have to buy a new desktop? Also could you recommend a game booster?

With XP and Vista, I believe you have to go out an buy a new OS with the 64bit system on it rather than the 32; not sure about Win7 - should be no
need to buy a new computer though.

Another thing to think about.

If you are using the computer's sound and not an added sound card , it might be taking up memory to play the sounds of the tire blowing and the scraping afterwards. Also, there is the co-pilot telling
you you've blown a tire and possibly the sound of fire engines. And all the FS sounds.

Just another thing to check.

With Win7 it depends which version you have.
For example with the ultimate version you can choose.
