Emergencies: 7700 and Radar Contact

Greetings all,
I have RC4 and FSP, and I think those two add-ons go great together!! BUT:
Situation: I accidentally pressed F7 for flap extension on FL340 (hehe, oops), and I decided to declare an emergency.
This is what I did: I squawked 7700, Declare emergency on the FsP menu, and then on RC box I chose EMERGENCY. After a while after being handed off to
Approach, I was told to squawk my original squawk code, so I did. At the end, FsP still docked points for not squawking 7700. This has been somewhat
discussed on AVSim, a beta tester told the thread starter to squawk 7700, then squawk whatever the controller told you to squawk. I did this and I
still lost points. Is there a work around? Any ideas are welcome and appreciated!

i dont think theres a work around. ive goten to where alot of my flights are thrown to gether really quickley and use the Defualt FSX ATC
caues i dont have alot of time.

when i use radar contact i dont often have problems thanks to good matanince. but when they do occur i just quit Radar contact and
default ATC

online VATSIM is the best way to go but this is not for everyone or you dont like the lack of ATC coverage.

i really just pretend im talking to ATC now. and just use the TCAS on my MFD to watch traffic around me. i do use the Ground controller on
Default ATC thoue

I believe there's only one 'workaround', which doesn't feel that realistic. But if you disable the squawk penalty in FsP you'll be ok. Well, as I
said, it makes the realism of flying a bit less realistic again...

Wait until your cleared to land before you squawk 7700 then you will not be penalised by FSP and RC4 won`t be on your back.
Give it a try.

ive been looking at VOXATC since im going to get the FS2crew 737default when it comes out. i wonder if VOXATC lets you Squawk 7700.

the only thing thats keeping me from getting it now is the voices, but im looking at downloadble voices to fix that

I have flown on VATSIM once or twice but like you said the lack of coverage and inconsistency has drawn me away from it. I also passed the Basic
VATUSA exam but find myself lacking the dedication and time to further continue.

John: Thank you for that idea, I will try that next time I do something stupid, or when an emergency does arise.

Timtomairways: I have VoxATC. I have never encountered an emergency when using VoxATC nevertheless I think they let you squawk 7700 and declare
emergency after accessing a menu by pressing "0". I have 2 Cepstral voices and even then, the voices are not that great and pretty robotic. Sometimes
ground tells you to contact tower and after you tune your radio, there's no prompt for contacting the tower and it can be quite a hassle and
frustration. As far as I know there is no free voices for VoxATC. VoxATC can be really fun when it works properly though.
