front gear didn´t retract

Hi,

had a problem. After take-off the front gear did not retract (the main gear did). I then declared an emergency and returned to departure airport. FSP
did not recognize the failure and I got penalty points for declaring an emergency and not landing at the assigned destination.

Why did FSP not recognize the failure?

Depends: the failure could have been initiated by your aircraft model and not FSP.

Which aircraft was it?

Same thing has happened to me a couple of times with an Posky Air France 747-400 and dont know why

FsP only recognises its own built in failures, as it explains in the manual.

If it was a FsP failure, the co pilot would have warned you about it.

But do you know what will happen if I continue the flight with an extended front gear even if fsp doesn´t recognize it?
Guess it will be damaged nonetheless and will cause problems when I touch down.
Any ideas what to do when such a problems occurs again?

Turn off failures within fs9 or within the aircraft then it wont happen.

If you want them left on, you can...

Continue the flight with it down (thou your plane will be slow)
Land somewhere nearby and get a penalty from FsP
Land and dont record the flight.

I had also that the nose gear didn't retract from an posky boeing and the co pilot didn't say anything but I declared an emergency and it
was all ok for fsp they didn't gave me a penalty

If you stay below the maximum speed for an extended gear it will not get damaged. You should have a chart with all essential speeds for
your aircraft anyhow at hand (Vref, VMO etc). There are normally two speeds in reference to the gear:

- maximum speed for lowering the gear

- maximum speed with the gear lowered

that´s quite clear that there are certain max. speeds. But I actually wanted to continue the flight above max gear speed in that case. Therefore my
question is whether I can do that if no failure is detected by fsp.

If you fly above the maximum speed aloowed for lowered gear, you will most likely damage that gear also. There is a definite reason for
those speed IRL.
Also you will encounter a higher fuel consumption and if you are not careful you can end up like this

P.s. Background story for the A310 crash: Gear wouldn't retract after TO, PIC 'decided' to continue the flight to Munich and ran out of fuel just before reaching the runway at Vienna (LOWW).
One has to remark that he flew over several airports with available facilities but decided he 'could make it' home. As can be seen - he DID NOT.

P.P.s. Pilot was sentenced to 6 months on probation.

Had the same problem with the 757 POSKY....Only a bit diferent, the nose gear didn't retract.... Since FSP didn't detect a failure I just flew as if
nothing was hapenning....speed didn't change neither fule consumption so I guess its a bug.
