OK, this is getting annoying

After an otherwise perfect 4-hour flight (without time acceleration) in a POSKY 767-300ER - including a missed approach because FS9
ATC vectored an MD83 2 miles in front of me 5 miles away from touchdown - I'm rolling out after touching down at 135ias and a vert.
speed of approx -200ft/min - not to mention that I was less than 3 minutes away from my planned arrival time!. As I put away the thrust
reversers - CRASH!!! No other aircraft nearby, no other dynamic scenery nearby and perfectly centred on the runway.

The flight report claims I hit the ground at 82kt and a vert. speed of -385 ft/min - killing 60 passengers and injuring 61 as well as the
pilots and cabin crew


I'm currently rated at C9 and have enough "points" to move to the next level, but needed a few more hours to get to C10. This flight would
have got me there.

Needless to say, I will NOTbe recording this flight.

Any known fixes for this problem? It's also happened to me once before in a premieraircaft B1900....

Did you already perform a forum search? I believe that this kind of issue has been experienced before.

Were you using an add-on airport?

The only similar occurance I could find was regarding aircraft "sinking" into the ground when stopped at the gate.

Aside from FSP and some freeware aircraft, everthing else is "stock".

From what I can gather from that post, my options are to either turn off crash detection or modify the POSKY gear contact cofig (which I'm
not 100% comfortable trying). I guess I'll have to turn off the crash detection. But it strikes me as odd that this problem didn't occur during
taxi to the "active" or while on the departure runway ...

Don't forget that FS9 is 99% compatible with...FS9 aircraft and FS9 scenery.

As soon as you use add-ons, you're bound to experience the "creative greatness" of their respective authors.

F.ex: you'd be amazed how many runways aren't properly declared as such. For the lambda user, no problem. But for a hardcore FsP pilot expect to be
told you've just overshot the RW from time to time..

Yes, that does sound familar. Turn off all the crash detection, it's the only way to go.

Just disable detecting crash....I know it takes it "realnes" but this has happen to me. I thought I disengange it and while I was park in my
gate assinged another equipment came to taxi there and bamn. Crash it sucked. Another incident or close call was at flt level 35,0000.
oh men I jump out of my seat.......dead straight....I mean HEAD ON STRAIGHT!!!! a Lear jet at 35,300 came right in front of me....what are
the odds......it was a night flight....and I thought it was a star.....but I noticed it got bigger and bright and then the red and white of the
beacon and I was like oh !####!....but thank god nothing happen........And Just right now I landed at PHNL......and I landed with a kiss...as
usual...and I get my gate # and then they send another B737.......to my gate....but this time my passenger exited on time and I ended to
record the flt. wow..I think I will just disable that feature of detecing crash.

Hmm. Flight level 350000, That must be around 35000000ft yes that must be an unuasual place the meet a learjet.

I never had this problem yet with wierd crashes.

I am far from being an expert, but I'd say:

Collision: close contact with another object
Crash: extreme deceleration.

At this point, may I pass the microphone over to Drew?

I wouldn't either, but then I'm a cfg-file-modification junkie! I'd fix the POSKY contact points issue. Really, all you're doing is editing a text
file. Make a backup of your aircraft.cfg first, then play with the contact points. If that fixes it, great! If it makes your aircraft explode as
soon as you start your flight, then relax - you've got a backup to save you.

My favourite edit was modding the C182 to give her a 300 HP engine that drives the prop at 2,700 RPM (just like the Air Plains C182 engine conversion
in real life - http://www.airplains.com/c182.html). The performance difference makes it worthwhile, and there's only a few lines to change. The
hardest part was figuring out how to change the Centre of Gravity since the mod adds 45 lbs to the nose of the aircraft.
