Hi, I`ve just had my first flight using FSPassenger and enjoyed it a lot. Previously, I`ve started on a runway and ended on a runway and
that has been my trip. I`d like to do it properly now, but are you punished for using slew with this program?
Where can I get info as to the gate area of an airport? I have FSNav, but wonder if there`s more info available anywhere.
How do you know how long a trip is going to take unless you`ve made it before?
When starting, I can`t find the option diagrams that are illustrated on pages 8 and 9.
Finally, I have read the manual, but if my answers are in the manual, I apologise in advance!

All i know is that NO u cant use slew mode it wont let you!!!!!

Hi dafvra, in addition to what clement wrote, the diagrams on page 8,9 are shown when you start a new company.
What gate info do you mean exactly?
Trip length... Some software shows it, some fmc's in some jets but there are many other ways to get a rough indication. I fyou search the forum you
will find many pages of interest to you

Here we go:

a) As mentioned by Clement312, slewing is a big "no-no"!
b) If you do not know your way around an airport, you can always turn on "Progressive Taxi" (i.e. the purple arrows on the taxiways). Or you
can download an airport chart....
c) The flying times has already been discussed many times on this forum, may I suggets you try a quick search. You will then find a lot of
links which allow you to enter your departure and destination airports to receive such info.
d) I don't have the manual where I am at present, so I can't help you
e) You don't have to apologize: that's what this forum is all about! Of course, a search can help....

Here's what I do...
Plan the flight in FSNav, since you have it.
Make sure you have the right aircraft selected, so it can correctly calculate the flight time based on climb speed, cruise speed, and cruise
altitude.
Add about 30 minutes, unless you have FS Traffic, start and land at a busy airport, and have traffic turned up high... then you may want to
allow additional extra time for taxi and such.

As long as you did not start your FsPassenger flight you can slew, use the map or go to airport form to change your position as wished.
When you have started FsP flight, from now until you end the flight to get the report, no slew, no map move (except for the tower)... It's the
game.
It is the same for the time of day. So select your wished departure time BEFORE.

Info about gate; I am not sure I understood the question but, (previously to start your FsPassenger flight) you can choose any gate
available in the drop down list within the go to airport form. I usually choose a small, medium or heavy gate upon my plane. Just take care
to keep away from the refueling station which refuel your plane at 100% as soon as you get too close.

With FSNav, you can get an estimated time and fuel consummed calculated upon altitude, cruise speed, climb rate etc. depending on the
plane selected in FSNav. You will have to adjust the value upon your plane by experience.

About time... It is (for me) much mor easy to be acurate in Flight sim than in real life (ask to Drew, Dutch and other network pilots )
For estimated time, given by FSNavigator I usually adjust the cruise speed by adding or substracting the average wind expected during
flight. I add to this some 20-30 minutes depending on the airports (long taxi path and waiting for take off due to ATC.

It usually fit. during flight FSNavigator gives you the estimated flight time remaining, If necessary and possible, I adjust my speed to keep
FSNav estimation 20 mins before FsP flight time left. It covers the ATC direction changes and taxi time to the gate.

Your flying is going to get much more intersting with FSP than just going from runway to runway.

Before starting FSP I decide my route, then as Pegase says, select a gate from the drop down list offered by FS9, when you select Go To
Airport. I guess you have been using 'active runway' so far. I tend to start cold and dark and will usually get through some of the pre flight
checks before staring FSP, which I do when I'm ready to start boarding passengers.

Avoid gates that are close to fuel pumps as you may find you get refuelled automatically and it will mess up FSP's fuel burn calculations.
