EDITING AUDIO FILES

Hi, I want to edit the "cabinbell" file in the FSP sound folder to the quality of the files in the CREWPACK folder. But after I change all the
quality settings and convert it to a lower quality file, it gets a cabin bell sound with a type of ring at the end. How do I edit the sound files
with just lower quality and not have extra background noise at the end when its degraded?

I'm confused exactly why ou want to lower the quality of this sound ?

when i try to mix it with another file in the CREWPACK, it makes sharon sound really like statiky.......so I don't know how I can mix them
both and make sharon sound like the original sound file and still keep the original sound of the cabinbell sound.
