EDITING POINTS

I'd like to edit the points allocation if at all possible, is there anyway of doing that...?? tell you why...


just landed in Tehran, flew over warzone, got hit by bullets, left fuel tank hit, leaking gas, made a landing while getting shot, heavy landing
(wouldn't you if you were in a hurry to land!!!).... docked 430 points in the red... totally unrealistic fellas!!! I saved an A300 worth millions
from getting shot out of the air and get docked for it!! hehe, but seriously. commonsense must prevail... when you sum it up, i saved the
aircraft and i saved all on board... should get a promotion !!

back to the original question tho... i'd like to edit it thank you very much considering that the current system is not realistic.

EDIT : OH, and PS, the airline company got wacked with a $22000000 bill to fix the A300... that of course would happen in the real world I guess.... the company gets hit, but the pilot wouldn't be!

I think to get a promotion you need to do such a flight with Falcon 4 or so.... ;-)

usually you get a lot of points for landing with such damage from war zone, (could be as much as 6000)
Perhaps you made some odd mistake ? can you post your flight log ?

Hi Zappie,

Did you declare an emergency? If you did, you should have gotten loads of points like Dan said for saving the aircraft and the pax during an
emergency. If you didn't, you would not have had access to those points and therefore, any little mistake you made on landing could not be offset by
the large bonus.

Now, with regards to the promotion. No, you should not automatically get a promotion. You might of, but it's not automatic. Don't forget that
promotions are based on both time and points. You might get promoted early but the next promotion is harder to get to because you are lacking hours.

Finally, you do not get promoted if you are not flying in career mode (at least, I don't think so).

Because at first, we shouldn't even fly over a warzone in a normal scenario.

Why not? Just because there's war in the area doesn't mean the local airlines stop flying -> Iraqi Air.

Hi Phil, I was about 100m short of the runway at about 50ft when the shots hit... no time to do a declare emergency.. ie too much going on
flying the plane... the programme hits you if you don't declare an emergency, but is the rule there that if you enter a war zone you
automatically declare an emergency?? I don't think so... planes fly in and out of real airports around the world and don't declare an
emergency unless there really is one... its a catch 22 with this one...damned if you do, damned if you don't!

I don't know, but in my opinion there's always time to quickly hit Ctrl+Shift+M (and K 7700 if realistic transponder is enabled)... it's not that hard.

You're missing my point... every time you enter a warzone, whether you are hit or not, you shouldn't have to declare an emergency... this
is not realistic... when you are landing an aircraft and you are that close to the runway threshold, it serves no purpose to declare an
emergency (AT THAT TIME!)... on the roll out, sure, no probs! but... consider this :

a. tower staff are watching all aircraft in bound so they are going to see engine fires etc etc
b. both pilots are way too busy doing other cockpit procedures to keep the aircraft from crashing
c. the paramount task is to get the aircraft on the ground, with passengers intact... I doubt if you would ever get any aircrew declaring an
emergency less than 50ft above the threshold of a runway when landing is imminent, and in the case when under fire... ya gonna land
anyway!! At a vsi reading at 500fpm at approach speed of 130-140 kias, you are milliseconds from landing.

I do get what you are saying, but as a real pilot (20 years in the pit) , I know what i'd be doing!!

Ok, from the "makes no sense" point of view you're right. I didn't get it that way, I really thought you meant to say that you had too much on your
hands on short final to also declare the emergency.

But here FS limitations come into play - real world poilot or no, it's just a sim. And teaching FSP to determine when you are close to landing (and
how close to landing you really are) and when you aren't would at least be quite complicated, so my guess is we'll have to live with that limitation
and just declare the emergency anyway if you want to get the bonus points.

Maybe Dan'll prove me wrong.

Sorry but for me everything is fine and fair....

-You didn't got any penalty for not declaring an emergency.

-You were hit in the left tank wich triggered a slow fuel leak, nothing dangerous at this points
you get plenty of time to manage that before it became dangerous and you were rewarded 250 points for that.

-Such hit doesn't impact on the way the aircraft fly, you just heard a sound that's all.

-But you made near a crash landing because you lost your cold blood , -634 ft/mn is really near a crash
with landing gear failing and possibly a lot of dead due to this.

-Even with a dangerous landing like that you still got only -100 points and a "good" rating wich is a gift if you
want my opinion, My instructor in real aircraft always told me to focus FIRST on aircraft piloting/attitude whatewer happen
immmo you failed to apply this rules and you endangered your passengers failing to apply this rules.

Again you got only a "chtong" sound in your hule near landing wich didn't had any effect on your aircraft
flying abilities at this time so it should not be an excuse to make such hard landing.

-You just ran in the main "FSP" feature: giving stress to you, and see if you can manage that, real pilot are supposed
to. Next time, just focus first on your aircraft flight, in landing phase NOTHING that doesn't change the way
your aircraft fly must distrurb you. At last most real accident happen just like that: often not the primary problem
cause the crash but pilot attention were disturbed by this and they took bad decision or simply forgot that they must
pilot the aircraft first.
