Hello community,


I am the best virtual pilot in the world. OK, sounded a bit pompous that, didn't it.

Well I am one of the best, for the following reasons.

>Lowest average touchdown rate on landing - but without landing "long" as some pilots try to do to get soft landings, and
is dangerous.
>Achieved best fuel efficiency in a wide range of planes.
>Have over 5000 hours of experience since August 2005 on FS2004. I also have FSX but my computer isn't so good with that.
>Learned FS "back in the day" with stuff like PSS A320 and PSS777.
> Lowest number of penality points per flight ratio without disabling loads of penalties like some people do.

However I am more partial to the older stuff like the DC-9 and DC-10. Much more interesting than the boring computerised
rubbish (which
is better at making airlines money).

I have indeed flown my airframe backwards. But it wasn't the DC-9, it was an aerobatics plane. My DC-9 would have come down in the
form of several small DC-9 parts, had I attempted it.

Try landing with 30knots of wind with visability less than 3nm? Im sure a DC10 will suit the job perfectly.

Not in the DC-10. Give me a 200kt headwind on takeoff and I probably could though.

Yeah the autoland feature on my DC-10 is pretty good for that kind of thing. J/K. In actual fact it would depend on the direction of wind relative to my plane. Straight on, no problem. If this was a crosswind however, I have to land it manually because a 30kt crosswind is beyond the limit for the autoland.

Well, since you demonstrated how to perform a proper tail strike on takeoff, you've been knocked down a notch or 2 from being the best virtual pilot
in the world. I would recommend that you amend your signature to "The Best Bloviating but Not The Best Virtual Pilot In The World". Of course, I could
select the best flight reports I have and put them on here to put your touchdown rates to shame but what would that prove?

I tell you what...how about I put you in a real airplane,ie, a Cessna 208, and see how well your landings are in a 20 knot crosswind

That you have to pick and choose reports to prove it rather than get consistently good landings one after the other?

A C208? Don't patronize me, it has to be at least DC-9 or 737-300 sized.

Funny you say that actually because I (as a real pilot also, but only in GA aircraft) find crosswind landings easier in real life than on FS2004.

Because of the following reasons:

>Many FS2004 planes have badly modelled rudder authority meaning I've often had to tweak the aircraft.cfg to make it more effective as it should be
>There is no sensation of motion or co-ordination on the PC simulator
>On FS2004 my rudder function is built into the joystick (you twist if left or right to get left/right rudder deflection), and this can make it more awkward (in my opinion) than if I had seperate rudder pedals.

I said "I could pick and choose" the best reports I have...not that I have to. Frankly, I do make make very good landings in the sim as well as in
real aircraft, but do I need to spend my time on here bloviating about them? Not at all. My point is this....I don't believe people are too impressed
with your reports, but continue on touting your virtual skills.

I highly doubt you would have much success in a real DC-9 or 737 in making a smooth landing in either one. You need to start smaller and work your way

If I was not trained to fly them, then obviously not.

I believe this is dependent on two things

proof of the pudding is in the eating, and I love to see people's faces when I prove 'em wrong.
