Overspeeds

Is there a way to not get pilot points deducted for an overspeed? I have them on almost every trans atlantic crossing due to violent wind shifts.
There is nothing I can do to stop them when I get a wind shift of 60+ knots. Am I missing something? Thanks...

I'll go a step further and suggest FSUIPC module to solve all of the wind issues.

Again, it is avoidable if people use FSUIPC

There is always more_options.cfg to disable the penalty altogether if that's your thing.

To clarify Joe's point, it's avoidable if you have a registered FSUIPC, otherwise, your only option is disabling it as gpapache indicates.

yeah i tried the FSUIPC and you need regesterd. looks like the only other option would be to disable it.

Also on that note any possible way to my FSPX more forgiving on stuff such as that?

The only way to avoid it without a registered FSUIPC or without disabling the penalty is to simply not overspeed. For instance, if you're flying a
jet and its maximum mach speed is 0.82 then make sure you don't approach that speed during flight and you should be okay. I think a good rule of
thumb would be to stay at least 0.05 mach slower...that way, if a big wind shift occurs, you should still be under the maximum. The same goes for
maximum IAS...reduce by about 6%. It's not a guarantee though...I had one flight where my wind speed went from 00 to 99 on my Shift+Z display (and in
actual fact, according to my wind speed indicator on my main panel, it was 128 kts.) and it took almost a minute for the AP to slow me down to a
non-overspeed speed after that.

If I were you, I'd just disable that penalty and forget about it.

it;'s not that i don't try to overspeed i just sit at a typical cruse speed and the wind direction changes instantly from a back wind to a head wind
and sends my aircraft into an overspeed. usally cruse in my 737 at .78 and i think the max speed is .81 and it still manages to overspeed :/
