Is It Possible to Change What Rank Your Pilot is at the Start of a Scenario

I was hoping to create my own scenario where you start off flying a CRJ and having to get promoted to a MD-83 or Embraer aircraft and
having to keep working your way up to an Airbus a330 or Boeing 737. However, I want to be able to use career mode so that I can force
myself to work my way up instead of jumping into a a330 and flying it like I normally do. But, I also don't want to have to start off flying a
little Cessna and having to go from there. So, is there a way to set the rank at which your pilot starts his career?

Simple solution.

Go to flight planner, create a really long VFR flight plan that loops around and returns you to same base.

Start out with the Cessna, choose Tour flight, get airborne, set autopilot to GPS and Nav, then just let the AP fly around for 2-3 hours each
time. I know, it's not really how you should do it, but it's a simple way to "grind" out enough flight hours to move on to bigger airplanes.

After my harddrive died and I lost all my FSPassengers files I had to start over from scratch and I'm using this method to get myself back
to my previous rank. I flew all the hours myself the first time around, I figure it doesn't hurt to let the autopilot do the work this time
around I just calculate the approx flight time, set my alarm, then watch a movie or do other stuff while FSX is running, then go do the
landing when the alarm goes off

Of course, if something happens to your airplane during the flight and you aren't there, well... might have a fatal ending, but if you just
started out and have a brand new Cessna at 100% condition it's very unlikely that something will happen during flight.

looking back to the first post, no you can't choose your rank, however if you want to start with a certain aircraft and work your way up, I suggest
creating a scenario with career mode off and just enough money to buy the CRJ, with an extra few thousand [whatever currency] spare in
case of any accidents/ emergencies. You make a lot of money from jets so its best if you put the income multiplier lower or prices to low/ very
low if you want a good few flights before upgrading to a larger aircraft, in your case the MD-83. What you have to also be aware of is because
the MD-83 is out of production, you will need money for extra repairs as the aircraft will be used with lots of flying hours already.
