#17 Fuel Planning to escape the 45-minute penalty:
FsPassengers requires that you have enough fuel on board when the flight is completed for at least 45
minutes of flight. This is to
simulate the requirement of a 45-miunute reserve for both VFR and IFR flights. The problem is that FsP cannot
distinguish between a legitimate use of
the 45 minute reserve and simple poor planning on your part. Therefore, the 45 min reserve must be in your tanks
when you end the flight. If it's not
there, you will be penalized.
To ensure that you have sufficient fuel, I recommend that you plan as follows as a MINIMUM, (if you fly on-
line, you might need more!)
Fuel needed for trip + 45 min (fuel to alternate and contingency) + 45 Min reserve
This should cover you 99.99% of the time when flying off-line and probably over 95% of the time when flying on-
line.
