need help on landing my 182SP

This is probably not exactly the forum completely related to my problem, but because my problem is definately related to fsp, I would like
you guys to take a minute and see into it maybe you ll give me some good help on that.
I find it difficult to land my 182SP most of the times I scare my passengers and creating vast G-forces. I can figure out its probably the
ange I set the nose during touch down and although i tried to look it up, i didnt find any info about that. Does anyone know what the angle
during landing should be, or generaly just give me info about what i should be careful of during landing so that i could make a good
landing?

Landing a Cassna 182 isn't that difficult Final approach speed about 60-65 knots (depends on the wind, rain etc) with Flaps 30, which will result
in an almost 0 degrees nose-up angle... if you need to push the nose down you are actually too fast or too high.

~10 feet above the runway start to flare slightly, don't pull the nose up to 10 degrees as you are told by the FS-lessons.. it's rubbish and results
in a hard landing due to too low speed and a stall... 3 or 4 degrees are really enough and if you're fast enough (55-60 knots) you will touch down
gently

I fly Robin 400 and C172s in real and I was told by my teachers: It's always better to add 3 knots to the "normal" Vref and flare 10 meters longer
than chrashing into ground due to too low speed.

I have to disagree with the approach speed for the 182. In real time a 172's ideal approach speed is 70 knots. Since the 182 is a bit
heavier, I would suspect the approach speed for the 182 would be slightly higher than the 172. I have never flown the 182, but I would
venture to say that it's approach speed is more suitable at around 75-80 knots in calm winds.

I do have many hours in the C208, and it's not uncommon to make an approach at 100-120 knots until reaching the threshold. That big ol
prop in front acts like a speed brake and can slow that sucker down nicely once the power lever is pulled back to idle. That's a luxury not
included with the 182

My primary job has me fly different 182's daily. The T182 , 182S, and T182RG all land at about the same airspeed, the only difference is the RG has
the 182 drop due to the added weight.

You should look for 75 clean and 65 full flaps on the approach. Of course those are subject to change depending on the wind, which we get a bunch in
Western Colorado.

I typically cross the threshold at 70 with flaps 10 and touch down about 65. That should give you a nice smooth landing.

Here is the same chain a few weeks later coming home from Santa Fe, NM. Got a little over 3.0 hours actual that day.

Good case of mountain obscuration during spring storms. I overheard a Mooney try to go through it, I ask to amend around.

My main job is to investigate aircraft accidents, I do some corp work on my off time. Waiting for the little lady to make more money to go back to

I was told when I did a few lessons in a Cessna to hold the nose on the horizon at ~10ft above touchdown. Don't know if anyone else
does that, but it seemed to work for me. I do this in FS without any problems

I am torn between going back to cargo or maybe try the fractionals.

Flew SIC on MU2B and LR24's for Kitty Hawk Air Charter for a while after Riddle. Got my seat as FE on the 727, got furloughed 2 weeks after 9/11. Then
again I see my buds flying for CitationShares and Flexjet making more and working a lot less.

Made some good contacts doing my current job (especially FedEx drivers) and will try Kitty Hawk or Champion Air in about 12 months after my Fiancee
gets her new position.

IFR in Germany is quite expensive and as a hobby pilot I actually don't need it No I'm still VFR rated, but I'm going to add a C-VFR next year.
