Serving Food/Drinks on Short Flights

Hi there,
I tend to fly short flights, probably 1.5 hours in the air tops and i have a some questions.

1) If i land while i'm still serving food or drinks will i get penalised?
2) If i don't serve food or drinks is there a penalty?
3) If i serve just a drink or meal is there a penalty?

And finally if there are penalties is there any way around it?

1) Yes and No. The Pax will be mildly upset that not all of them will be able to eat/drink. But the crew will stop serving when you get below
6000ft
2) No, not for 1.5hrs of flight usually. Unless the passengers get hungry, nothing bad will happen
3) No.

Finally, yes there is, do longer flights if you really need to.

i some times fly a 4 hour vor flight at 4000 feet and when im cruising and serve drinks/food hostess tells im desending.

My advice is to feed and water them right away! they may not be hungry, but it shows that you are a caring airline. In one way this add on
is liike politics, that is basically 'keep the people happy'!

Instruct crew on short flights to throw sandwiches at passengers.(g)

Sandwiches are quicker to serve with drinks.

Is there any way of stopping the crew serving drinks? (if it's set on auto)
I was approx 4500ft on descent and they are still serving drinks :S

*You authorized food/drink to be served too late in the flight and it was interrupted by arrival procedures. (-50)

The crew don't seem to take the length of flight into account when they begin serving?

I've never been penalised for waking them up to feed them. Heck, it happens in real life anyway!

What I tend to do is serve drinks as soon after take off as I can, then check the inflight report when the crew have finished serving. If the
hostess advice is that they will be hungry in about 1 hour, I feed them after about 20 minutes.

Even if the hostess advises that they'll be hungry in about 3 hours, you can still give 'em a sandwich after half an hour or so, providing of course that you have enough time before desent. Again, I've never
been
penalised for it, the post flight report still says that were happy to have been fed

depends on the time you fly.

Try taking off at maybe 11am, and they will be wanting there lunch soon after...........
Take off at 1pm, they would have had there lunch already etc

Thats why I always carry a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign borrowed(!) from a hotel, and anytime I want to sleep (means usually) I hang it on my
shirt
