you might have one if you're lucky.
The best time to have one is when you least expect it. It makes FsP worth ten times the money.

Just set the probability for a crash for each flight up to 100%, I bet you'll eventually get a bird strike

haha, the one time I had a bird strike I didnt even know it
![]() I didnt get a bang or anyhing, nor did the copilot say anything, I noticed after a few minutes that my engine wasent performing well and I was afraid that I tookoff with the engine bad (wasent checking N2 power) then when I landed it said I had a birdstrike, was kinda dissapointed that I didnt realize it ![]()

There's a lot more to seeing birds hit the engine, windshield, etc than you think. First off, the program has to know where the engine is.
As there are somewhere around 12989085 different textures, models, etc for third-party download, it's probably impossible in FsP. Comments Dan?

We have birds! I just found these two downloads at flightsim.com:
birds_10.zip FS2004 Bird Collection Rwy12 Object Placer Library. The five static birds, in twenty different shapes and formations, are all done in 3D with Gmax and in a low polygon count for frame rate efficiency. The idea is to make static birds that came from the "AI Canada Geese" by Joe Binka but contrary to his V formation that moves as AI traffic, the static birds give you a sense of movement by flying by at low speed. The birds are crash sensitive, so don't try to hunt them with your aircraft. Some of the birds can be placed on the ground or water and others in the air. By Seev Kahn - Rwy12 team. fsbirds1.zip Birds For FS2004, v1.0. Full package to create bird formations in FS2004. 5000 flight plans of geese in 'V' formation at various altitudes; worldwide coverage. Easy install and remove. Works as AI from invisible airports. Does not disturb your airport operations or AI traffic. Only small performance penalty. By Eric van der Veen. Geese model by Joe Binka. I'll have to try them out. The only thing is, they wouldn't register as bird strikes - only collisions. I wonder if there's a way to diffrentiate within FSP.

I had must first ever one this morning!
I took off from EGPH in my B737 and as soon as my wheels left the runway there was a huge bang and the starboard engines died. The co-pilot informed me that we had a "flame-out." I declared an emergency, turned around, and landed at EGPH again, safely ![]() The post flight report stated that it was a bird strike that caused the problem. One thing though; I was flying IFR, so in order to get permission to re-land at EGPH I cancelled the IFR flight plan, putting me into VFR. I then called up EGPH tower and asked to land. They told me the airport was in IFR only and refused me permission to land!!! I had one engine only, the other dead due to the fire!!!! How can they tell me no!? (I realise this is a limitation with FS9 and not FSP). I told them to poke it where the sun does not shine, I'm coming in!!! ![]()
