Dumping fuel possibillities (I saw so far) were always announced as a special feature of a particular plane being advertized.
So - my guess is that it is something that has to be enabled on a 'specific airplane level', not as a 'generic modification'. But than again.... it wouldn't be the first time I'm wrong....??? ![]() "Blessed are those who can laugh at their own mistakes, for they shall never cease to be amused "

The RFP 747-200 classic has the fuel dump feature, and you can see the trails coming off the wings when you use it.

The LevelD 767 and Captain Sim 707(I think) also has this feature. And I believe the upcoming PMDG 747 will have the feature. And yes it
is a additional feature in each particular plane. I think there is quite a lot involved in simulating the fysics and programming it. :D Audun

Your going to find the 747 has a very steep learning curve, and from some of the other things you have already said I really doubt it's
gonna be much use to you. For one thing there's no easy quick start, she's a lady and needs to be treated that way, be prepared to spend an hour the first few times just getting the engines running, on top of that you may find that at the end of the hour you still have no hydraulics, because you pressed a button/switch out of order. YES it really is that complicated, because every single system is modeled and has an effect. Even the fuel has to be put in at the gate like in real life. ![]() Flying for Landmark Airlines.

There really isnt anything complicated about knowing which buttons to click in a certain sequence, Its a matter of knowing where they are
and when to click them. I am 18 and I dont think that age has anything to do with the "steep" learning curve. Im in flight college in canada, and the first thing we learn is there really isnt anything complicated about the procedures that pilots follow, they get paid well for being able to execute a highly error-free operation involving interaction with outside world, airplane, and crew. what if jeff said he was 40, all the sudden it wouldnt be a steep learning curve? Although I do agree, if he is solely getting that product for fuel dump, then it might be a miss, but thats how you learn that there is more to flying than CTRL+E. |
