Hi Jeffrey,

It's a good idea but, IMO, highly impractical. From my understanding, we can have our "home base" anywhere in the world. A single
airport would probably not work and neither would a terminal since there's no way to edit all airports in FS so that you can have your little
business. When you start doing that, then you have to worry about possible add-on incompatibility. Mind you, there is nothing from
stoping you of creating you own airport and adding the AFCAD files for your airline (if you know how to do it - I don't).

Plain and simple
There are to many Airports around the world to write something in there so each and every Airport could be used as a hub especially with
all the parking gates cargo ramps and jetways in the game and i would expect that if they would have thrown in something like this it
could have only been a few major Airports and that would of lead to much dissapointment,
This might give the designers some food for thought into the next FSP with the arrival of FS2006

If your Proficient with TTools then you can make your own routes after painting your own AI then simply apply them to which ever airport
you service not to tough,Dan has done more then enough to improve our enjoyment of Flight simming no need to ask him to do what we
can do for our selves ...There are other tools that will help make your routes and the likes....Check Flightsim.com,Avsim, or simviation.

Do you know of any really helpful walkthroughs etc that one could use to get aquainted with this method of applying your own liveries and
routes? it sounds like really time consuming stuff and i have always been dubious to dable in this area of expertise... however, people
keep on about how easy it is and i guess i really should put some time aside to give it a go . what are the essentials? i have traffic
tools and afcad downloaded, but it is all appearing very fiddly.

In matter of fact this is a cool idea. And it's not hard at all to do it yourself! It will take you one, maybe two days (and that only if you loose your
nerves and decide you better continue tomorrow. )


First read the TTools readme file. Notice the following::
1. time is UTC
2. CODE:
AC#57,9A-CTN,50%,4Hr,IFR,00:34:59,01:09:08,090,R,0000,LDSP, 04:00:00,05:34:09,100,R,0000,LDSH

...is explained:
- plane number 57 (C172R in my case)
- with tail number 9A-CTN
- activates as soon as the traffic setting is at least 50%
- the plan repeats every 4 hours
- the flight is IFR
- the first takeoff is at 00:35 at LDSH and arrives to LDSP at 1:09,
- flies at 9.000 ft
- ATC calls using the tail number
- the flight number is 0000 and it doesn't matter since we are contacted using the tail number
- leaves LDSP at 4:00 and arrives LDSH at 4:34
- flies at 10.000 ft
- using the tail number as a callsign, too

When it comes to the airliners, things are a bit different:

Here you can notice tdifferent format of departure and arrival, for instance: 4/20:10,@4/21:05, means thursday, departure at 20:10 and
arrival at 21:05 sharp.
The first day is Sundayj - 0 and the last is saturday - 6.

And once again, time is UTC and the time of the arrival should be realistic for the particular kind of plane!
