i know fed ex flies into grand forks, nd a lot, if you're ever assigned on a flight to there lemme know, ill be at school and those looked like
some nasty clouds on 24 may, gotta love wisconsin weather tho. . .

I never get into ND but I do get into SD at least twice a year

Hey, I might be flying the C208! Talking to superior aviation now, they only want 300 total time for a F/O, and after a year I'll be able to move up
to captain!

Brandon, be VERY careful about Superior. I have flown with pilots who worked for them early on in their careers. Each one had horror
stories to tell me. The company has a habit of not repairing the aircraft when something is broken, and they want you to fly no matter what
the conditions are(hopefully they have changed their attitude about these things now). Of course Superior is attractive to new pilots
because they will accept a low time pilot, but you will be treated crappy...trust me on this. What's important is how they maintain their
equipment, which is shoddy at best. My suggestion to you is keep looking for another company. Talk to other Caravan pilots in your area
or go online and chat with them. There is a dedicated site for C208 pilots. I never get on there but do a google search. It shouldn't be hard
to find. As a matter of fact, I'll send you a note with the phone # of a great C208 operator who flies our C208s in your area. You can get
ALOT of good info. from them.

Thanks for the heads up, Joe. I'll look for that note. At this point, it's either find a charter or cargo outfit that wil accept low time pilots, or
pay $3500 (which I don't have) for a CFI course.

Do you have your ME? You might want to check with some operators who have Cessna 421s...like Titan. It's all hand flying, no AP in their
planes, but you sure as heck get to know how to trim an airplane with laser accuracy Any time I fly with a C208 pilot who shows such
smooth accuracy in trimming the plane, and overall smooth control inputs, I know this pilot has flown those 421s...hehehe!

Loong sotry, man. I was supposed to have it 3 weeks ago, but due to paperwork issues, weatehr, etc, I still haven't taken my ride. It's scheduled for
the 30th now. What are their hour requirements, for a FO? I've got about 60 hours of multi time as of today.

Sorry, man...we don't have FO's in the Caravan. Single pilot ops only. You'd likely need several hundred hours of ME time in order to be
considered for an ATR-42 FO job, but that's no guarantee.

Titan Airways only has single pilot ops there,too. I'm quite sure of it. I've never seen 2 pilots crawl out of the 421 on any ramp I've been on,
such as Milwaukee or Aberdeen. Have you looked up Titan to see if they might have a 2 pilot operation any place?

Touchy engines? I don't follow you on that one. The P&Ws on that bird is a darn good engine and has had GREAT reliability.
Occassionally a fuel control unit and the igniter box will go bad, but we couldn't have an overall reliability of over 99.75% with "touchy
engines". Now, if a pilot decided to unwire the emergency power lever and slam it full forward, he'd have a fried engine ,and hopefully
would be near an airport when that happens...then you can say it's a "dead" engine and a "touchy" situation. Also, did you read
closely
most of those NTSB reports? Sadly, the majority of them relate to pilot error...for flying into KNOWN icing conditions and CFIT. Yes, I have
personally known several Caravan pilots who lost his/her life after making a bad decision while flying during the winter. They didn't utilize
all of the resources available to them in order to stay out of trouble, plain and simple. That's why flying single pilot IFR takes extreme
diligence on the pilot to stay ahead of the aircraft at all times, and to anticipate what could happen next. Complacency kills....

Thanks for your first hand explanation. I read the reports and stuff a long time ago when I was first getting into flying so my memories are a bit
biased by the experience level, or lack there of I had back then.
