How many flight simming years

If we take any sim into account, then my first sim would also be on the Commodore 64, which was my first computer ever. I can't remember the name, only that it was in 1986 and I do remember how much trouble I had with landings, luckily my landings have improved since then. That would make it around 20 years of experience then

Like Dan, I did my first digital flying on a C64, and also can't remember the program (wasn't that a SubLogic thing already?).
But I was more into Elite at the time. I finally blew up the C64 when I plugged a custom built datasette

First MSFS was on an IBM 286 with 20MB harddisk and a B/W monitor. This was around 1992. Can't remember if it was FS4 or an
earlier version.
Before FsP I had stopped for almost 2 years. Thanks Dan for taking me back to the (virtual) skies!

I'm a relatively new kid on the block, started with FS2002 as opposed to the SimTower game I was planning on getting. My disks went
kaput, so I was out of FS for almost a year till I got back in with FS9.

Errrm... The 1st Flight Simulator I purchased was in 1980 and was for the Sinclair ZX-81:



...which basically explains while I didn't really get hooked until this came out in 1982:

A mate showed me that Sub logic program on his old commodore in 1986, which didn't thrill me. But in 1993 when I got my first computer (screaming
machine then) Fs5.0, then had every upgrade since then. Anyone want to buy my old versions? Antiques!! worth heaps.
BTW computer was a 486DX-33mhz,4mb ram(that wasthe upgrade)256mb HD and that was 2500AUD then!!! The good old days were blody expensive for no return.

Started in 1981 with a ZX 81 1/2 K memory and two lines showing runway and one line showing aircraft. Digital speed, course & Altitude.

However it was a form of forward motion looking ahead..so a sim idea.

From there, the lot! C64 Fs2 Atari Fs4 (I think) PC & ATP (miles ahead of its time) then through every release.


I can truthfully say that Flight Simmiming has cost me Thousands of pounds in computers and upgrades.

Yet, for all thw stuff wee guys try, it has been the ONLY hobby that has held me. Sure, a times I took 6 months or so off, but I come back.
