B737...

I just ran into a webpage of a B737 for FS2004 that looks absolutely amazing... if i understand correctly this version has just been released. Do
yourselfes a favour and have a look and maybe give feedback on what you think. Now I have serious thinking to do... this 737 or the PMDG as im
buying very very soon and would like some input.

Apparently you can do things with this B737 on this site that cant be done in any other aeroplane in FS and the documanetation is apparently boeing
style documentation (500+ pages) etc as it simulates the real thing and the aircraft looks like a real aircraft... not a sim. Does anyone use it or
am i misreading the info on it. You can even drive the pushback tug etc.

Brad... would appreciate it if you would also have a look at it and tell me your thoughts.

Oh my gosh! The windows ice up if you don't turn on window heat and you can even see the ice!!! Is this a joke?

$50 for EACH base pack, on top of that each expansion costs around $12.

Airane is known to make their products in HIGH EYECANDY MODE. The cabins, the tug, the stairs....Who needs it? Your FLYING the plane!The systems are
modeled better on the PMDG NGs, and while they may not *look* as nice, I'm positive the fly and act more like the real thing.
Hell, the PMDG744 looks cheap compared to these guys! And it offers MUCH more in terms of FLYING the plane!
If you want to see in detail a 737NG, fly Southwest!

Thats what i'm afraid of... altho this model seems to be great from the flying point of view as well... but alot to pay if it doesnt match up...
therefore i'm trying to get the info in before I commit to buying it ... as I think PMDG guys will be best to judge. With PMDG i know what I get...
with this so far it looks great but dont know from a FDE point of view etc yet. But... if this one can fly properly I think it will set new standards for FS as I never thought alot of those features were possible at all on FS2004.

From what I can tell, the program is also mainly eyecandy (as previously stated). It adds a lot of nice features, however note that it talks a
LOT more about the visual aspect of it, as opposed to the actual functionality of the panels/avionics, etc. I do like that the Overhead panel
models the aft overhead (excluded from PMDG's model), however nothing's really back there that's essential for flight simulation.

Now that I think of it, I have heard of this company in the past. As I understood it, they only made external models (and textures), and
many people used the PMDG panel with the Ariane models.

It looks great for those that like eyecandy (I'd love a visual icing indicator though... that's missing from PMDG). If anyone on these forums
owns it, or ends up purchasing it, let me know what you think. Perhaps I'll take a second look at it then!

I would also like to know what they think if anyones has it or gets it. I think however i'll go for the PMDG till I have more info... going with what
I know (from you guys)... as I know it wont be money wasted incase the Ariane one is not worthwhile as i'm interested in the Flight Dynamics and
realism from a flying perspective.

From the reviews I read (in German though, sorry) the Ariane 737 is at least as good as the PMDG in all aspects (yes, flight model too). Although it
features a lot of eyecandy (BTW: "The cabins, the tug, the stairs....Who needs it? Your FLYING the plane!" - yea, let's go back to FS4 graphics, who
needs all that good looking stuff anyway ) it's actually mor economincal in terms of resources than the PMDG reference. The model only uses half as
much polygons and the textures are a fraction in size - especially for the VC, 1,5 MB as opposed to more than 25 MB for the PMDG.

But no, I haven't had a chance to try it yet. And yes, it's expensive.

The older packages seem a bit more resonably priced though... well, in comparison.

Thats $90! NINTY DOLLARS US! I thought PMDG was expsnive!
I don't care how much the VC's windows Ice up (you should not see it anyway when you fly the plane) No way I'm EVER going to buy it.

In regards to going back to FS4: each new FS brought us up not only in graphics, but in complexity and ability to manipulate. Each new version allowed
code crunchers to model aircraft just like the real thing, allowing more and more realistic flight.

Also remember, you don't fly the plane from the cabin or the outside, you fly it from the cockpit. So far I have seen that PMDG has just done better
in that aspect. If the price was lower, and there was more info out there, I might consider it. But right now, I simply can not justify the price of
the thing, for what they offer.

The tug is interactive...you can control it and pushback yourself!
