I had a tire blow on me after a 3.4 hour cross country flight with three of my kids on board going to see grandma for the weekend.
Uneventful approach and landing and as soon as the tires hit the left tire blew. I did all I could to keep the plane on the runway and
rightside up as the plane REALLY wanted to spin to the left. After all was said and done...stopped...engine off...and wiping the sweat off
my brow...my daughter looked over at me from the passenger seat and says, "tsk tsk tsk....that was your worst landing ever..." I very nearly
made her walk home....

As many FsP failure teach something this might teach that one can't assume a flight is complete and relax until
Parking brake are set and pax gone.

I hope this feature can be removed optionally because I will blow the tire every time.

I can kiss almost every time even in bad weater (not recommended anyway in this case)... FsP is meant to improve your piloting skill
I doubt you land at -700fpm or worse every time ? do you ?

NEWS:

Added this failure as random, once landed the tire may explode also. (maintenance error on tire inflation)
Nothing really bad but some that thought they've made the day after wheel touchdown might be surprised
and finish badly.

Another "teaching" failure: don't relax until you're at home

716fpm at 135 KIAS = a 3 degree glide-slope, so if you are hitting at >700fpm every time then I would suggest that you work on your
flare a little bit more or you may be flaring with too much energy and ballooning your approach.

without FSP and although FSX has greatly improved i know that FSXP with all it's new and wonderful features will absolutely rock. Good

I get -1,000 - -2000 ftpm during decent. I start my decent about 2 mile final. When I start my descent I am at arround 2000. I normaly
decend slowly. But have trouble when I am really close to the runway. I fly an MD-88. I go acording to the Delta Virtual Airlines guidelines
and they recomend between 140 and 150 knotts, landing speed. I normally am at 146 or so. You might be able to look at my flight records
at teh Delta Virtual Airlines website my pilot code is DVA6011.

Maybe come in a little flatter with a longer approach path so you can start settling in sooner. I had to do that when I first started out
because my approaches all looked like tactical approaches by C-17's in Baghdad. I learned to anticipate a little more and by stretching
and flattening out my approach I had lower speed at lower altitude sooner and could set her down more gently. It may not be perfectly
realistic when you have to slide under the glideslope a little but it works.

Well there's your problem:

At 150 KIAS 1,000 fpm = 4 degree glide slope and at 150 knots 2,000 fpm is just north of a 7.5 degree glide slope. A good glideslope for
an approach to landing is 3 degrees. which is about 800 fpm.

Give yourself more room 2 mile descents from 2,000' AGL is just too close for a straight in approach. At 150 Knots you are traveling 2.5
nm per minute and for a 3 degree descent from 2,000' AGL you will need 2.5 minutes to descend. Thus 2.5 x 2.5 = 6.3 nm straight in
approach and is where you should begin your descent. Once you begin your descent maintain just a hair under 800 fpm.

The above technique should stabilize your approach and help with your landings. 2,000' at 2 miles! I can autorotate a helicopter in that
distance!

Have a practice in YPTN

Its an Australian Air Force base, nice long runway head out around 100NM and then come back in for an approach and see how you go...
