Yes, I agree with your point there, but then you get into what should you put in your signature; i.e. do you put every a/c you're certified on, or
whether you have a PPL or ATPL etc.. I think maybe that the a/c certified on may be more useful, then people could be able to more easily direct a/c
type specific questions if they have any.

Ok ok, I have to reluctantly admit...I am a Commercial Pilot with a BS Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical
University and have completed half of post grad work in Aeronautical Science....Aviation Safety Systems. Have worked in aviation for nearly
20 years and have flown a wide variety of aircraft over the years...piston and turbo props only. My specialty is in aviation safety and spend
tons of hours in Cessna Caravans and ATR-42/72....air cargo industry. But, do I put my resume' in a signature? Not on your life

If anyone has an aircraft specific question for real world flying, I'll be happy to converse with them in the Real World Aviation forum. I recall
only one person who was truly interested in knowing more about the C208's systems, but the particular member hasn't been around in
quite some time. Do many of you really want to know about the different anti-icing levels in the ATR-42/72 when it's not accurately
modeled in the Flight1 ATR, for example? Does anyone know there are 3 levels depending on the SAT and TAT and when either level
should be used depending on those temperatures? Does anyone want to know what the Inertial Separator is for on the C208 when it's
not modeled at all on the default C208 or the FeelThere Caravan? Keep in mind, these questions are the tip of the iceburg when it comes
to aircraft systems and how to manage them.

Hello !

(no I'm not a ghost but the real DanSteph, author of FsP )

Sorry I didn't had time to read the 4 pages so I'll only post a general thought on this.

About me:

-First sorry for being absent so long time there is honnestly several reasons:

First I worked alone more than 6000 hours for FsP and it still barrely can assure my familly income for a long time, there is no billion sales. Second the 6000 hours left me exhausted and with healt concern, unlike most peoples my days are never finished: saturday, sunday, hollidays. Third appart spending 24/24 every day on forum the "customer support" will never be "right" in the way some customers ask. Add the fact that a minority feel the right to insult be unpolite or rude just because they have paid (not speaking about hacking) and you end with an discouraged and paranoiac author. Sisyph mountain or another name for hell. (yes , I'm very sensitive, this is maybe why I can make FsP like software)

The conclusion is: I'm an exceptionnal programmer but probably the worse commercial in world Please accept my apologies for that.


Now there is some thought from a ]minority of customers that are wrong:

-When you purchase FsP you purchase the 6000 hours, not a free lifetime support, there is NO product in real life sold with free lifetime support because it's not commercialy and humainly possible. (for software it's even worse with too many peoples that never paid and still ask support)

-There is not enough income anyway to borrow a professionnal support team, a small company (me ) can't do better than big company that earn billion and they still fail to provide a good support. (Ask microsoft about your last BSOD )

-The variety of PC configuration (and the latest OS change) make that is almost impossible to make a software that work without any problems on all configuration. On some point I can (and will) do better of course (eg: FsP04 not updated to Vista's UAC) but on most other there is nothing I can do more. The point is: whatewer effort one put in software there will still be some problems that are unsolvable on some configuration. (It still seem FsPs are enough solid but see below)


About internet forums:

Appart what I wrote above my personnal thought:
I really see an ambiance change in all forums I know. It seem the enhousiasm of first internet years have changed, there is less cooperative and more rude peoples (when there IS peoples, many forum died in the last year). This is maybe due to the huge offer (social network, blog etc) or maybe due to some beginners that doesn't have the same feeling of "it's news, we are all friend I want to add my part" as some years ago.

Now there are still exceptionnal peoples that want to share and communicate. I really feel gratefull for all friendly peoples that still animate and are positive in this forum.


About moderator:

One should understand that at the end of years a moderator on a commercial forum may have faced hundred conflicts and same basic question (that are "one-click-far"), There is enough to exhaust anyone. So whatewer eventuall problem I'm still very gratefull to those that are still here after years. I'll make some changes and ask for more moderators to help but I'll still support them.

When there is a conflict the cause are always shared. Only the goodwill of all can solve the situation.


About the futur of FsPassengers:

Within 10-15 day (or before I hope) I'll be back to patch/update both FsP04 and FsPx. I'll stay here for month. Appart my work on software (95% of my time) I hope to be more active and make some change in FAQ and forum so it will be more clean, clear and organised.

As for people who did not pay for the product trying to get support, you should do what level-d does and create a paying members only
area to the form (just like with a serial to access the product, give each paying customer a unique forum serial that can only access the
support section and can only be used once).

Awesome to see you again on the forum.

Like i stated earlier ...you are an exeptional programmer...and your hard work is more than apriciated.
Problems with software wil always exist due the massive amount of different systems out there.
And other problems are impossible to fix.

Most annoying thing for FSP users is that they get little to none info from the mods about if/when a patch will arive.
Askin for an issue to be fixed solved in 2 ways on this forum ....or you get to hear "Learn to fly" or the topic gets closed.

moderators are suposed to stay neutral towards each customer...give advice and info...and keep ppl informed about
what the future plans are of the best addon for FS9 and FSX EVAH.
As long as the customer is polite and respectfull ofcourse.

75% of the software released gets a patch sooner or later...either to add new things..or fix known issues.

But as we know you are working on a patch (for both versions ....applause ) so you must at least
partially agrre with my point of view.

Health comes before work....and i am sure that most ppl will understand that things take longer....as long as they get
informed.

Thats the point of a forum.....to keep informed!

Pilots brag, its the way life is.
However at no stage have I personally (or in this instance as well, Joeflyer, or Tracky) "bragged" about being pilots in the real world on a variety
of aircraft both commercial and cargo. Boeing, ATR, Cessna, and the Jungle Jets. As mentioned real world pilots are a benefit to all members on the
forum who most likely are aspiring or have a very keen interest in flying.

Dan, glad to see you placed your input in and hopefully let people air their issues and hopefully let out any questions they have at this point in time.
