Anybody interested in this little Tool?

I downloaded this little tool and I'm happy to report that it works great for me. Makes it a bit more interesting to fly into an airport you never
really knew existed before.

I have an idea: Would it be better to code it so that it looks at the size (class) of your departure airport and simply sends you to an airport
of a similar or larger size? That way if you start from say KLAX in a 777, you wouldn't have to worry about being sent to a small regional
airport, because those would be automatically eliminated.

Of course that would eliminate a few flight posibilities.... depends on how many people actually fly Cessnas out of international airports
looking for a relaxing getaway in the mountains. Anyway I thought its an idea worth throwing out there.

thank you for putting it up again, and your right it should be better in "FsP general".

Don: Great, that your happy with the tool. Your idea is good, and I thought about those issues before, but I think it will eliminate flight
possibilities. However, there will be a solution in the future. Either you can enter a minimum runway length directly, or better put it in a
configuration file. This way, it should come up only with airports which have sufficient runway length.

Brad give it a try....even if you like to know where your going and where you have been

Please all, tell me your thoughts about the tool, what can be improved, what is good, what is bad. The more info and ideas
and the better it will get

Well, you could code it with a config file, yes. Just let the program ask for type of aircraft. I.E. SEP and specify a minimum runway length
for SEPs in the config file. do the same for DEP, Turboprop, small Jet, Airliner, and etc. Each aircraft type have a different runway length
required. Then ask for ILS required: Y/N?

Don't forget, some people like to fly Amphibians too. Anybody want to create a database of all of the lakes in the world? LoL Maybe this
is a bit farther in the future...

I have to think about that. Probably I will also put the database in an additional file, so anybody can edit it. Delete all the airports, which are
not required and add airports which are not in (lakes etc. you just have to come up with an identifier and know the locations lat long)

There was a user "anonymous" commenting my program. Saying range option missing and asked me to send the souce code. Well I
will not do that and not to somebody who is anonymus. Well the program is not that big yet, but I think growing and I will not send out the
code to anybody who is just asking for that. Sorry. I welcome anybody who likes to participate, has ideas and so on, but there must be a
level of trust and sympathy for me.

A "send me the code" is not working for me. Sorry. And I bet most of you, if not all, will understand that.

i download the tool and it really is cool. Had a go last night and it makes my life easier by telling what airport to fly to from Dublin (this is
where I always fly from) Cheers again.

I've actually been looking for something like this for my real life flying. I'm just building hours, so I try to fly to different airports. I
actually took my sectional and drew a circle with the various distances from my home airport. This program will give me a little randomness to it.

What about having the program show several airports instead of just one. Showing all would be too many, but show five or ten. Then you could check
each of the airports and choose the one that matches your requirements: runway length, number of gates, expected weather, etc.

FSP + Random flight generator = Flight simulator like it should always have been.
