I've not had a bird strike, but have had one engine failure on takeoff in a 747-400 as well as jammed landing gears...would not come up....I declared
my emergency and came back around and landed both...
from additional reading...it seems that on the landing gear I maybe should have just requested a touch and go first to see if it would unstick
them...is that correct? as far as the engine failure....could have continued on with 3 engines....but from what little knowledge of FAA regs here
in the U.S. returning is the requirement.
