Autopilot "dive of death" .... ?

I recently found an auto-pilot for my helicoptor fleet that works great except if I pause the flight to get a cold one. Upon my speedy
return with frosty brew in hand I un-pause and all of a sudden my bird is screaming at -2000ft/min searching for the nearest granite filled
cloud. This was all solved by turning off the otto before I pause thereby allowing me to gather my libations with a clear conscience. This
might work for playing around with your windows.

Yeah, but I turned off the "Pause game when task switched" thing so I could mess around on Youtube, with my iTunes, talk on MSN and
do other stuff while my airplane is huffing along through the skies on autopilot.

That way I can combine getting the flight done, monitor the instruments and flight itself as well as entertain myself with other things to
boot.

Thus pausing the game to prevent the DoD (Dive of Death) is counterproductive in regards to what I was trying to achieve ^^

But after I upgraded to my PA-34 I've not had any issues with the task-switching and autopilot, other than the aforementioned thermals
that boost me up a bit and then forces autopilot to correct the altitude by dipping the nose.

So still a mystery what caused/causes it. I'm just happy that I'm no longer testing the durability of my cabinroof using the head of the
passengers as a tool anymore.
