@Crowebird...yeah, so far REX textures are the bomb! I have been mixing up textures before every flight to get a feel of what each
customized theme looks like...superb! For FS9, this was a HUGE improvement. @Tim...I am not certain about REX's own wx engine, as I haven't tried it out with FS9. However, REX works beautifully with Active Sky Advanced in FS9. I don't have REX with FSX....only use Flight Environment Xtreme's hi def textures (certainly can't go wrong with those either). As far as frame rates go with REX(FS9), I do see some temporary loss during heavy cloud draws but the losses are about the same when I used Cielosim textures as well...during heavy cloud draws of course. I have heard some positive and negative reviews from others regarding REX's wx engine...it's going to be totally dependent on your experience. Do you happen to have FSUIPC? While I'm at it, I finally got around to getting more screenshots done...only a bit of sharpening but nothing fancy. Using the PMDG 737-800 out of MSLP and REX textures for FS9.... ![]() Shortly after departure and climbing to FL350 to MDSD: ![]() ![]() ![]() Cruising FL350: ![]() On descent to MDSD: ![]() ![]() Little bit of buffeting on approach but still enjoying the scenery: ![]() Nice arrival, smooooth landing: ![]() Post Edited ( 03-12-10 19:52 )

The weather addon works great, and the textures rex supplies are amazing.
I do need to note though that I have been having a lot of wind smoothing issues, don't know how much that is on REX, but it can be kind of drastic, even at FL370. I really have not looked into a solution yet though. Note: I am basing this (weather engine) comparing to Default FS. Compared to AS it is not that great, but I dont feel like paying for the AS upgrade yet, and for what it is it works great. Edit: lol, so with saying that, I decided to go take a look at AS and noticed they have another new engine out... might be time to take a closer look, because it looks like it will work great with REX. Not ready to throw down anothr $50, but it will probably be a future investment. Post Edited ( 03-12-10 19:51 )

Affirm i do have FSUIPC
but the unregistered vertion personally i could care less about texturs. i really just want realistic weather that matches current METARS (ive noticed several diffrences between a METAR and the weather generated by FS default) but when i saw everything REX did, i thought why not have good texturs to. ill look into AS tonight when i get home and have some time ![]()

Wow, I had NO idea HiFi had Active Sky Evolution out. You would think it would be plastered all over the opening screen of ASA that shows
latest updates ![]() ![]() @Tim...I don't know how well REX's wx engine will smooth out the wind fluctuations, since this is a typical problem, but the registered version of FSUIPC will definitely smooth out any drastic wind changes. I have not experienced ANY overspeeds in cruise flight since using the registered version.

Quote:timtomairways wrote: then AS is still the best , REX weather engine is not accurate with his updates , ex. you are flying at FL350 for 10 min and all the clouds are going away you fly then 10 min in a crystal blue sky and suddenly after an updat back in heavy clouds. but they are working on sp 2 so maybe these bugs will be filtered out ![]() ![]() ![]()

VERY nice indeed, Crowe dude
![]() I'm wondering...has anyone developed the VC textures for the FSX version of the 767 like Andre Folker did for FS9?
