Hi everyone.
I've been using and enjoying FSpassengers for nearly a month now. More than anything it's re-invigorated my interest in sim flying. It's
truly a fabulous idea. I've read the FAQ and I'm pretty familiar with the program but I do have a few questions. In random order as I can
think of them:
- I like to set maximum penalties to recreate as much as possible the pressures on the guys that really do this for a living. The only one
I've had to disable in more_options is the flaps penalty, since my usual airplane of choice is the DC-3 and taking off with flaps set is
frowned upon in a normal takeoff. Is there a better solution? I like the penalty to be on when I fly jets, and constantly changed
more_options.cfg is a bit of a hassle.
- Being a unpressurized propliner driver, I usually fly below 10,000ft. There are some situations involving minimums over STAR fixes
that require me to fly right at 10,000. But the landing lights are supposed to be on under 10,000 and off over. Do I have to worry
about that if I drift up or down a little while trying to hold 10,000? Should the lights be on or off at that altitude? What's the leeway I have to
work with if any?
- In my neck of the woods we have mountains that go up to about 6,000ft. If I'm flying over them the stewardess (we still call'em that on
the DC-3) will frequently cancel any service in progress "because we are decending to our destination" -- which we certainly ARE NOT
doing. What gives with this and is there a way to stop her from being so skittish and impatient? I think it has to do with decreasing AGL
as we fly over higher territory.
-- That's all I can think of right now. Once again, a fabulous idea and a great product.
Thanks for your help!
