Regarding puting FS9 on a seperate or partitioned drive, Fs9 will no longer work once you reinstall windows. The reason is that FS9 will
no longer be in the windows registry. When you try and load up the game it will not work. Hence even though you still have the game
installed (or loaded) on a seperate or partitioned drive windows WILL NOT recognise the game being there. Some programs do not
have this problem e.g Cakewalk, Wavelab, for example. Unfortunantly FS9 does have this issue as do most microsoft programs.
The reason behind this is: When you load a program it is not only loaded onto the hard drive but there is also some information given to
the Windows registry.
To see and understand what the Windows Registry is
Goto: Start Menu - Run - Type in "regedit".
You will now see the Windows Registry.
To see where flight sim is click on:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE
MICROSOFT
There you will see Flight simulator (excuse me if this thread is wrong but I am at work and do not have FS9 installed so I am only going
off memory). So what happens is when you reinstall Windows the link to the game is no longer there.
Hope it helps,
Shane
