I don't understand the question. VA's won't come into play with this at all. If you fly for a VA, then you get your flight assignments from
them, right? This is like a VA inside your computer, I guess. :P
Anyway, the aircraft file is done, save for setting the required hours for each aircraft before allowing certification. Again, I'm just plugging
in numbers here so if anyone wants to modify them or if they have true values, please let me know and we can make a standard file with
the right stuff.
Also, in attempting to write a short program to see if the code used is IATA or ICAO and then setting it to ICAO in the main one, I found
that...um.. I don't think I'll be doing that. 23760 airports in FS9!!!! I got hat file from AI Separation. So, would anyone mind if they are all in
IATA format? Here's the thing: FS9 uses ICAO to look up airports but, airline timetables use IATA. Since my goal was to make it easy for
anyone to plug in their own timetables, IATA is the way to go but then, you might have to go fishing for it in FS.
I'll use IATA for the time being. By the way, this whole thing was written using RapidQ, a form of Basic which was a breeze to pick up and
learn - well, as I've been using Basic ever since the Timex Sinclair computer came out in.... AGH! Oh my head do I feel old!
Last things before beta is uploaded:
Add hours to aircraft file - tonight
Throw together some basic flightplans - mostly complete
Add a few more data items to the type-rating display page
Write a quick set of instructions
