I took a look at the compatibility mode article link. Looks like I am not running in any kind of compatibility mode. I've reinstalled using the new version again,

Also, don't know if it helps, but here's my system information, just in case.

I didn't get another registry warning because I didn't attempt to restart FS after it crashed. It had been a long day so I just decided to call it quits after posting
here. However, that
registry key re-appeared when I checked for it this morning. Dang registry!

I re-installed as admin once more, and I discovered that it appears Steam may not have been running as admin. I went to check it, and under the properties
"Run this program as an
administrator" was unchecked. I'm going to go ahead and try this install, see how things go. I'll report back. Thanks!

**EDIT**

The saga continues! Now FS won't load because of a registry problem with FSUIPC (even after deletion of the key). I am going to completely uninstall FS, and
install it in the root directory of the hard drive. Then, before I add any add-ons, I'll install FSPAX and report back.
