First off, why are you skimming along the legal altitude @ 250 kts with 300 miles to go? Next, depending on the elevation of the
depature and arrival airports you could in fact be descending to your destination. If you take off from an aircraft carrier in the Pacific, climb
to FL105 you would also be 10,500 above the ground, maintain your FL and as you cross the Rockie Mountains the ground has come up
to meet you, by the time you get to Denver you will only be about 5,000 AGL thus constituting an approach.
