I am grateful for your comment, I thought about changing all the display settings just before I land to as little as possiable so the
computer doesnt
have to work hard, would buying more RAM be a good idea do you think?

Going above the number of 3 (and a cookie) GB of RAM would require switching to a 64bit operating system - which is not a bad thing at all
but it depends if you want to do the work

Additionally you could try a program like game booster to shut down all unneeded services when running FSX. You will be surprised how
much cr*p gets loaded and runs in the background by default. This often helps older pcs..well...define old XD...and surely can't hurt to try.
