Yes, installing to a different root file path will cause problems - you should in all circumstances install to C:/program files/microsoft
games/fsx as FSX has problems reading for anything that isn't in that root path.
Are you sure about that? I have never installed to the default path, and have never had any problems with FSP, FSX, FS9, or any other
add ons.
There are alot of reasons why one wouldnt want to install to the default location. So I'm not sure your statment that "you should in all

an accurate one.
Quite sure; I've had FSX since it came out and have spent many, many days experimenting with add-ons and whether or not FSX reads them properly or at
all according to their root path.
