Find out what the actual empty weight of the ATR 42-300 is and make the change in the aircraft .cfg file that you will find in that particular
aircraft's folder. According to http://www.airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=41 the operating empty weight is 22,674 lbs.
Open the aircraft.cfg in the aircraft folder and change this line:
empty_weight= xxxxx .xxx
to...
empty_weight= 22674.000
You can do the same thing to the max takeoff weight which would be:
max_gross_weight= 36817.999
I think that will help you some. I had to do that with one of my 737-500's which was overloaded with just 50 passengers and no fuel.
